About "Life Insubricus" Summer School

This summer school is held with the support of the LIFE Programme — the European Union’s main funding tool for environmental and climate-related initiatives. Since its launch in 1992, the LIFE Programme has co-financed numerous conservation projects across EU Member States, particularly in the fields of biodiversity, habitats, and species. The Life Insubricus project falls under the LIFE “Nature and Biodiversity” sub-programme (2014–2020).

The summer school combines seminars, field visits, and group discussions to offer participants an in-depth perspective on the ecological importance and protection of small wetlands. It addresses a wide range of aspects, from the ecosystems and species these wetlands support to the environmental threats they face and the conservation efforts needed to safeguard them. Topics also include environmental education, the human impact on these ecosystems, and ways to mitigate that impact.

Participants will learn from real-life examples and on-site visits, exploring effective conservation approaches.
