Questions & Answers about Vocational studies in Spain

1. If the program of vocational studies is free, why do I have to pay for the application?

- If you get admission into a public vocational school in Spain, you will not need to pay for tuition fees. However, in order to be eligible to receive the scholarship from the government as international student, you need to keep certain criteria. This includes having your academic credentials recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education, which involves certain bureaucracy and process like sworn translation, scholarship application and homologation process. All this is paperwork is what Erasmus In School charges for. 

2. What is the total cost for me to Erasmus In School to apply on my behalf?

The total cost is 2,290€. This is paid in 2 instalments. You only pay for the second instalment if you got admission with scholarship.

3. What is the meaning of "admission with scholarship"?

Admission with scholarship means that you got admission into a vocational course in Spain, funded by the Spanish government, where you will not need to pay any tuition fees. 

4. What is included in the first instalment payment?

The first instalment payment includes all the paperwork and bureaucracy necessary for you to be able to apply as international student to a vocational program with no tuition fees in Spain. Erasmus In School gets in charge of preparing all that paperwork on your behalf, including, academic credentials, sworn translation and scholarship application,. You only have to worry about select the course of your choice, we do the rest.

5. What is included in the second instalment payment?

You will only pay for the second instalment if you got admission with a scholarship. Second instalment includes individual guidance for the entire visa process, (before and after reaching Spain), as well as training prior arrival to find part-time jobs and affordable accommodation. 

6. Is there any refund if I don't get admission into a public vocational centre with scholarship?

There is no refund, however, you will have with you all the paperwork that will allow you to apply for the next intake. All these documents are yours and you can use it for future applications. Erasmus In School will apply for the next intake on your behalf with no cost.  Or if you prefer it, we could apply for a private vocational centre, (in thiS case, there will be tuition fees, which will need to be paid directly to the vocational school). 

7. How can I maximise my possibilities to get admission in a public centre with a scholarship?

If you have good grades, that will help, as admissions are accepted based on the grades obtain. On top of that, if you apply for a course which is not highly demanded in a small town, that will definitely increase your chances to get admission. 

8. Do I need to know Spanish to obtain admission?

No, knowing Spanish is not a requirement. However, we recommend you become familiar with the language in advance. 

9. What is the language of communication of the classes?

Classes and exams will be conducted in Spanish language. The approach of studies is very practical. Most of the international students who attended classes and took Spanish classes were able to speak Spanish fluently after 3 months in Spain and no prior level of Spanish. 

10. Can I have access to part time jobs while studying?

 Yes, the student visa in Spain allows you to work up to 30h/week. 

11. It is easy to teach English in Spain?
