An exciting opportunity for 13 young volunteers from several European countries who are interested in sustainability and environmental protection to apply for the Short-term Volunteering project "My Green University 2.0", which takes place at the Bialystok University of Technology Campus in Bialystok, Poland, from 6 to 19 October 2025. This volunteering project is organised by "Bialystok University of Technology" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.
About the Volunteering
Bialystok University of Technology (BUT) invites young people to join the second edition of its volunteering project "My Green University 2.0" within the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). For 14 days, participants will work in an international team focused on climate action, sustainability, and environmental protection.
The program includes training sessions on climate change, environmental awareness, and active citizenship. Volunteers will create environmental campaigns, develop materials promoting eco-friendly attitudes, and help organize Erasmus Days at the university. A key activity will be the greening of the BUT campus together with students and the local community.
Each group will include 13 young volunteers, offering a great chance to build friendships, gain new skills, and find inspiration.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- young people aged between 18 and 30 years old from one of the following countries (Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine)
- Participants in the program are expected to have:
- Open-mindedness, creativity, proactivity, and cultural awareness.
- Teamwork skills, a sense of responsibility, and readiness for new experiences.
- English language skills are sufficient for effective communication.
- An organized, tolerant, and solution-oriented attitude, with respect for project rules.
- Willingness to learn and take part in training activities.
- Preferred Interests & Skills
- Interest in environmental protection.
- Openness to outreach and promotional activities, including sharing experiences and promoting volunteering.
- Basic skills or readiness to work with Canva.
Important Note: As the project involves gardening and outdoor activities, volunteers should consider any potential allergies to plants, insects, or other environmental factors before applying.
Expenses and Benefits
- Volunteers will be accommodated in double rooms at the dormitory located on the campus of BUT, with access to shared bathrooms, and a kitchen will be reserved.
- You'll live with other volunteers in a safe and comfortable environment. The dormitory is equipped with kitchen utensils and internet access.
- Volunteers will receive: €6 per day as pocket money, €12 per day as food allowance.
- Travel expenses will be paid based on the tickets presented upon arrival, according to the following limits:
- from 10 – 99 km - 56 EUR (Green Travel)/ 28 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 100 – 499 km - 285 EUR (Green Travel)/ 211 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 500 – 1999 km - 417 EUR (Green Travel)/ 309 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 2000 – 2999 km - 395 EUR (Green Travel)/ 535 EUR (Non-Green Travel)

- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project, where you are expected to self-assess your own learning, and you can add it to your CV.
