Young Green Force | One-month Volunteering Project in Spain (Fully Funded)

An open call for 12 young people aged 18 to 30 years old from all over Europe to participate in a one-month team volunteering project in Spain. Young Green Force will take place at a small village of approximately 200 inhabitants situated in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, in Nijar, in the province of Almería, southern Spain. The project takes place from the 10th of November to the 11th of December 2025. The project is hosted and organised by Vereda Colectiva association, coordinated by Link Cultural association, and funded by the European Solidarity Corps Programme of the European Union. 

About the Volunteering Project 

Young Green Force brings together 12 young people aged 18 to 30 years old for a 1-month volunteering experience in Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Spain. It is a rural immersion for those who want to live in an extraordinary natural environment and take part in its protection and restoration. 

Main areas of Volunteering

Volunteers will work in groups and rotate between different tasks, ensuring a dynamic routine and the opportunity to learn a variety of skills. 

Trails and stone walls: Clear vegetation and carry out basic maintenance of old trails and restore ancient dry stone walls.

Teenagers/children: 2–3 meetings in local schools to present the volunteers’ cultures, countries of origin, and European youth programmes.

Environmental actions: Collect, sort, and recycle garbage in areas of the Park.

Project visibility: Take and edit photos and videos of the project, share them on social media and the project’s website.

Cooking and housekeeping: Prepare meals and manage household needs. YGF is a self-managed community!

Eligibility| Who can apply?

- Your age is between 18 and 30;

- You legally reside in the European Union, Turkey, the Balkans, or the Caucasus;

- You are interested in environmental activities;

- You are motivated to improve practical and manual skills, problem-solving, and teamwork competencies, and your sense of initiative;

- Willing to live for 1 month in a rural area and disconnect from your daily routine;

- You’re keen to meet the local community, create opportunities, and make a difference both for them and yourself;

- You are open to living and collaborating with other young people from different countries and creating lifelong connections.

Expenses and Conditions

- Volunteers will be accommodated in Fernán Pérez, in a historic, fully renovated farmhouse.

- The volunteers will share double or triple rooms at Cortijo La Tenada, a historic farmhouse located 4 km from the village of Fernán Pérez, that is fully self-sufficient and guided by ecological principles — an inspiring place to experience sustainable living in harmony with nature.

- Volunteers will have a shared kitchen and the opportunity to cook for themselves as a group with an extra amount of 180€/person.

- Each volunteer will receive a total of €186 as pocket money. This is not payment for the work, but a flat-rate allowance for small personal expenses.

- Travel costs are reimbursed according to the official Distance Calculator, based on the distance between the volunteer’s place of residence and the project venue. Reimbursement is made after the activity is completed.

· 0–99 km = 23

· 100–499 km = 180€

· 500–1,999 km = 275€

· 2,000–2,999 km = 360€

· 3,000–3,999 km = 530€

· 4,000–4,999 km = 820€

- Health insurance covering possible medical expenses will be provided.

- Local transport needed for the project activities is covered by the project funds. During free time, participants may visit nearby towns. the seaside, or explore the surroundings at their own expense.
