Short term volunteering project in Croatia (Fully Funded)

Eko Centar Latinovac is looking for 14 volunteers to volunteer and work with it on sustainable and rural development issues, and community building in a small village in Croatia. The organisation will provide living and travel costs to participate in this volunteer project.


About the Project

Eko Centar Latinovac hosts 14 volunteers to work on the themes of sustainable and rural development, community building, promoting volunteerism, sustainable agriculture, and multiculturalism. The volunteer program will include three main activities in preparing and hosting public events and helping to reallocate property that was formerly the village public school. Outside the local community, the host organisation will conduct many promotional, sports and educational activities with regional organisations. Volunteers will be able to experience living and working in the community, rural lifestyle, sustainable farming practices, vegetarian cuisine, and peace and quiet in a small rural village.

You will work 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, in both the morning and afternoon hours with a generous lunch break in between. The project team has 8 years of experience and more than 250 ESC volunteers have gone through Latinovac already.


About EKO Center

Eko Centar Latinovac was founded in Latinovac, Croatia, in 1995 and obtained its legal status as a non-profit NGO in 1998. The main activities of the organization are education of sustainable agriculture in theory and practice, building educational display properties, and volunteer caravan (mobile volunteer center) , intercultural exchange and learning, community development, sustainable agriculture, cooperation and communication.


Benefits and Finance

- Travel costs will be covered depends on the distance between your homeland and Croatia.

- Host organisation will provide accommodation in the village for volunteers

you will have access to shared room with beds, a shower, washing machine and a kitchen area.

During working days, Eco Centre will prepare 3 epic and tasty vegetarian meals. For non-working days, volunteers will receive "food money" 

- Each volunteer will get Pocket money during the project.


Eligibility

- Your age between 18 - 30 years old

- Be a resident in one of the following countries

Armenia, Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Belarus, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Georgia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Russian Federation, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine, Kosovo * UN resolution

- Have Basic English skills. 

Able to articulate his/her needs, open and polite in communication.

Bonus points if you enjoy biking, hiking, outdoors in general, are a team player and looking to expand your horizons

Previous experience in volunteering is not obligatory. Personal motivation is one of the main selection criteria.


Timeline

Deadline: 15 May 2022

Arrival: Arrival day is 3 June 2022

Departure: Departure day is 31 July 2022
