About the Project
The Youth Action Week is the flagship event of the Democracy Here | Democracy Now campaign and of the anniversary of 50 years of the youth sector in the Council of Europe. The event is organised under the patronage of the Irish Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and in partnership with the City of Strasbourg.
It will bring together activists, civil society, member States and partners of the youth sector to strengthen the youth campaign for revitalising democracy and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the youth sector of the Council of Europe.
Strasbourg is a French city located in the east of the country, close to a number of Swiss, Belgian and German border cities such as Frankfurt, Luxembourg and Zurich. The city is located on the banks of the River Ill, a tributary of the famous Rhine, and hosts the headquarters of a number of famous international institutions such as the European Commission and the European Parliament. It is the seat of the European Parliament and many of the institutions of the European Commission. Strasbourg is one of the most famous tourist destinations in France and Europe and contains many tourist attractions such as Strasbourg Cathedral, Gutenberg Square, Orangerie Park, Strasbourg Historical Museum, Chocolate Museum, Museum of Modern Art. Certainly you will be lucky if you visited Strasbourg.
Finance and Benefits
- Travel costs of participants are covered by either
national authorities for national delegations
the Council of Europe
by the sending organisation or instituation of the particpant
- Participant have to inform in the application form if they require funding for their travel costs.
- Participants will be accommodated in Several hotels in Strasbourg
- The organisers will take measurs to accommodate for any Specific needs of participants in respect to accessibility provided that information is given in a timely and clear manner.
- The sessions of the youth action week will take place in Headquarters of the council of Europe, European youth Centre Strasbourg, there will be free transpot between the venues will be ensured
Eligibility
- Be resident in one of a member state of the Council of Europe or in one of these coyntries ( Jordan, Morocco, Palestine and Kyrgyzstan )
- Able to communicate independently in English or French
- Have been or have concrete plans of being actively involved in the campaign at local or international level as a young people, youth worker, trainers, activists, policy or political actors.
- Are involved in initiatives, projects or organisations that are of relevance to the themes of the Youth Action week and of the Campaign
- Are motivated to take part in the Youth Action Week in the full duration of the activity
- Are Able to follow-up the event with actions and activities in the framework of the campaign at national or international level
- Able to refund their own travel costs
