About Egyesek 

Egyesek youth Association is a NGO based in Budapest, Hungary. It is a community of active youth and young professionals.It organises many volunteer activities and training courses to help young people achieve a better professional and personal life. For 15 years, Egyesek has been designing and delivering training courses in the field of European youth work based on a very unique approach. They work in strong cooperation with local schools and youth centers in order to reach and involve more  young people to their programs. Also, they are part of Synergy Group, Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations (Alliance) and Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) networks.


About Budapest

Budapest stretches on the Danube River, and is famous for its thermal springs, some of which have been used for medicinal purposes since ancient times. Budapest has a lot to do, as it is a lively tourist city. Budapest has many tourist attractions, such as magnificent architecture, ancient and beautiful churches, street parties, tourist attractions, and various natural and recreational places. The experience of travelling for a tourist holiday in Budapest is an unforgettable experience.


About the Project

A two-week summer camp " Shelters of Solidarity " in Budapest, Hungary organised by the Egyesek Youth Association. This project aims to establish and hold targeted summer programs for children living in shelters. Volunteers will organise and animate children's sports and games and activities, which will serve a wide range of psychosocial needs and skills such as joy, affection, trust, empathy and respect. Volunteers may organise sessions with parents to offer the experience of co-playing or teaching English to children. Activities will start from 9 am to 5:30 pm.


Finance and Benefits

- All volunteers will be accommodated in a hostel in Budapest and All will provide a 2 weeks public transportation ticket.

Lunch will be provided in the shelters, breakfast and dinner is self-organised, but covered by the project cost.

- The evenings and the second weekend will be free to explore the city centre of Budapest.


Eligibility

- Aged between 18 - 30 years

- Be a resident in one of EU countries or one of the Partner countries in European Solidarity Corps.

- You are good at (nonverbal) communication and are not afraid of the circumstances in the shelters.

motivated volunteers, who have a sense of empathy and who are patient.

You are able to communicate in English ( Intermediate level )

- This work camp is especially suitable for volunteers who have an experience or are interested in working with children and refugees.
