An excellent opportunity for young people interested in climate justice in all its aspects. If you are interested in achieving climate justice and are tired of the theories and concepts of right-wing populism, we invite you to attend the international activity "Climate Justice Against Right-wing Populism". This project will be at Naturefriends house Zeehuis in Bergen aan Zee, Netherlands. This project is organized by International Young Naturefriends (IYNF) and supported by the European Youth Foundation of The Council of Europe and Erasmus+.



About IYNF

IYNF is an international organisation bringing together Young Naturefriends and their organisations across Europe. It was established in 1975 and currently has 18 member and 14 partner organisations. With more than 120.000 young members organised in over a thousand local groups, it is one of the major European youth organisations. to know more about the organization click HERE.


About the project

"International Young Naturefriends" decided to dedicate the year 2023 to giving young people the tools to engage with right-wing populists in the environmental and climate justice movement with a course called “Extremism, a Threat to Climate Justice?”. International participants will be welcomed to 4 international activities throughout the year.

“Climate Justice vs. Right-Wing Populism” is the first activity of the 2023 cycle “Extremism, a Threat to Climate Justice”.

The following activities will be carried out:

In Austria from 18th the 23rd of April

In Germany from 20th to 24th of June

In Italy from 20th to 24th of September

The activity is aiming to give youth leaders and young people the following learning experiences:

- Gaining knowledge about climate justice and the social aspects of the climate crisis.

- Understanding the political and psychological principles of populism.

- Ability to recognise contradictory “truths” spread my populists about the climate crisis.


Finance and Benefits

- Participation fee 50 EUR for naturefriends members and 75-100 EUR for other participants.

- Accommodation and food are fully covered.

- Travel costs will be covered up to 275 EUR for round-trip.


Eligbility

- Aged between 18-30 years old (Host organisation can also accept a limited number of participants older than 30 years old).

- Be a resident in one of these Countries ( ANDORRA, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, MONACO, Moldova, Montenegro, SAN MARINO, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Erasmus+ Youth Programme countries Austria, Belgium - DE, Belgium - FL, Belgium - FR, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye)

- This project will be for young Individuals, youth Workers, Social workers, Youth leaders and activists sharing IYNF Goals.

- Be interested in knowing more about climate justice, right wing populism.

- Motivation to learn how to debate and debunk right wing populist talking points.

- Motivation to spread and share the contents and newly gained knowledge and experiences during the activity back in your local community.

- Good written and spoken skills in English.

availability to participate in all 4 activities of the cycle is an asset.

Selection: Host organization will inform the applicants about the selection procedure by 2nd of December.
