Yenching Global Symposium 2023 in China (Fully Funded)

Amazing opportunity for leading young professionals from a wide range of fields to attend an international seminar " Yenching Global Symposium" in Beijing, China. There will be 300 delegates at the Yenching Global Symposium from all over the world. The delegates will be joined by the current residing cohorts of Yenching Scholars as well as various guests, speakers and faculty members.

About YGS

The Yenching Global Symposium (YGS) is the annual flagship event organised by the Yenching Academy that brings together people from different disciplines with a common interest: China. This year, the event will take place in April 2023 and will comprise engaging speakers and interactive events on the topic of “ Humanity: Cartographies of Collaboration”. This conference will feature prominent international scholars and leading young professionals from a wide range of fields and will provide a forum for constructive dialogue on salient issues pertaining to China and the world. The Yenching Global Symposium, hosted and fully funded by the Yenching Academy of Peking University.

Eligibility

Applicants with strong leadership potential and a readiness to participate in nuanced, interdisciplinary discussions on questions surrounding China and the theme for the year "Humanity: Cartographies of Collaboration" are welcome to apply if they meet the following criteria:

- All applicants from all countries are eligibile to apply.

- Born after January 1, 1992

- Having a minimum of Bachelor's degree in any field at the time of application.

- Able to attend the entirety of the symposium from April 14th to 18th.

- Having a proficient level in English.

- Has never attended any of the previous editions of the Yenching Global Symposium or the Yenching Social Innovation Forum.

- If English is not your first language or you have not graduated from an English-taught program, please provide a description of your English proficiency (minimum IELTS 7/TOEFL 100/Cambridge 180/CEFR C1). Screenshots are accepted.

Finance and Benefits

- there is no application fee

- If you are selected as a delegate, the Yenching Global Symposium will cover all expenses related to the event ( airfare, Accommodation, and meals).

- you will receive a certificate if you attend the whole program.

- Special assistance will be provided for participants with special needs.

- Please be aware that YGS is unable to issue invitation letters containing barcodes for visa purposes. Please take note of this when applying for your visa to China.

Timeline

Deadline:  23:59 (GMT+8), 31 January 2023.

Results: Successful applicants will be notified no later than early March 2023.

Duration: The YGS 2023 will take place between 14-18 April 2023.
