About the North-South Center 

the North-South Center of the Council of Europe is an instrument for the multilateral cooperation of the Council of Europe policy towards its neighbouring regions. Its mission is to promote an active global citizenship among governments, parliaments, local & regional authorities and civil society by raising awareness of global interdependence through intercultural dialogue and global education. 


About North-South Center Traineeship

The North-South Centre of the Council of Europe offers traineeships for undergraduate and recent graduates twice a year for a period of three (minimum) to five (maximum) months in different units:

- Global Education

- Youth Cooperation 

- Women Empowerment

- Central Unit - Communication

- Central Unit - Events and administration


Finance and Benefits

- A monthly flat-rate grant of 600 EUR to support the trainee's monthly expense. 

- Health insurance coverage for the risks of:

  •  Sickness and accident.

  •  Death or permanent disablement as the result of an accident.
- Trainees are entitled to two days off per month. 

- Travel and Visa costs for the candidates from Algeria, Cabo Verde, Morocco and Tunisia will be covered by NSC


Eligibility

Nationals of the member states of the North-South Centre and/or the Council of Europe are eligible to apply 

Completion of higher education or successful completion of at least three years of university study.

Having a very good knowledge of one of the Council of Europe's official languages (English and French) and a good knowledge of the other.

 Having a Good drafting ability.

Haven't been completed an internship at the Council of Europe or any of its institutions.


Duties

The duties to which trainees are assigned include assisting with the preparation of activities, research, different types of drafting and other day-to-day administrative tasks. the working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:30

Traineeship Session - October 2023

Period of traineeship: from 01/10/2023 to 29/02/2024

Application deadline: 10/05/2023

Traineeship Session - March 2024

Period of traineeship: from 01/03/2024 to 31/07/2024

Application deadline: It will be announced later

Important: Owing to the large amount of applications to be processed, it is strongly recommended to apply at least two weeks before the deadline.
