Open call for 30 active youth and youth leaders to participate in short study visit "Learning Through Sports" in Ankara, Türkiye for 3 days. This study visit is organised by the Turkish National Agency and co-funded by the European Union.

About Ankara

Ankara is the capital city of Turkey and the country's second largest city after Istanbul. The city has a population (as of 2019) of 5,5 million, and a mean elevation of 850 m (2800 ft).

Centrally located in Anatolia, Ankara is an important commercial and industrial city. It is the center of the Turkish Government, and houses all foreign embassies. It is an important crossroads of trade, strategically located at the center of Turkey's highway and railway networks, and serves as the marketing center for the surrounding agricultural area.


About the Study Visit

Sports as a tool for social integration and learning are the main topic of this study visit. The primary goals include networking in the field of sports organizations, best practices, and healthy lifestyles. It will be observed during the study visit how different target groups and contexts use sports as a teaching tool. Activities aimed at forming partnerships will also be included. 


The Study Visit Aims

- To visit and share best practices

- To gain a deeper understanding of the various approaches taken in different social and demographic contexts

To establish new partnerships for future collaborations


Eligibility

Aged over 18 years old.

- Resident in one of the following countries:

  • Erasmus+ Youth programme countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, North Macedonia
  • Third countries not associated to the Erasmus Programme: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine.

This opportunity available for Youth workers, Young people ,Representatives of Sport Organisations, Sport Staff, and Volunteers.

- Have a good command of English language.

- Ability to attend the whole period of the training.


Finance and Benefits

The project is financed by the participating National Agencies of the Erasmus+ programme

- There is no participation fee 

Turkish National Agency organises the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation (in SINGLE rooms) and food for the duration of the event.

Most of the National agencies of Erasmus+ will reimburse the travel costs for the economy class tickets to the extend of 95% from the total amount of the tickets ( you need to check your National agency website about that as well).

- Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity.
