About the European Solidarity Corps 

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a programme funded by the European Union that empowers young individuals aged 18 to 30 years through volunteering or work projects within their country or abroad. It’s addressed to promote solidarity, encourage social engagement, and facilitate personal growth by offering opportunities to contribute to society, gain experience, and develop new skills across diverse activities.Participants benefit from essential support like accommodation, food allowance, pocket money, travel reimbursements, health insurance, and mentorship throughout their engagement.

Volunteers have the opportunity to learn and grow by engaging in meaningful projects that encourage teamwork, collaboration, and cultural exchange, enabling them to immerse themselves in diverse communities and work collectively. More info about ESC here.


About Ã„ngsbacka

Ängsbacka KursgÃ¥rd is the largest Course and Festival Center in the Scandinavian countries , and it hosts volunteers throughout the year. In 2017, they add ESC program to their regular volunteer program. They are a working community that aims to contribute to the development of more conscious life, caring for our planet and living from the heart. People learn here not just from the courses and seminars that are provided, but also from the immersive experience of sharing a sustainable lifestyle that is integrated into an intentional working community.


About the Project

"Make a Difference, Grow, and Connect" is a 6-week volunteering project in a small village in Sweden. If you want to immerse yourself in the heart of Ängsbacka and play a vital role in preparing for the upcoming European Ecovillage Gathering and other festivals. 

Contribute to the creation of a vibrant and sustainable environment for the festivals while gaining valuable skills and forming lifelong connections. A range of practical tasks will be undertaken by you, such as setting up the site, building tents and other structures, decorating themed areas, harvesting wood from Ängsbacka's sawmill, maintaining various festival areas, and preparing gardens to produce sustainable food and herbs. The majority of the tasks could need hard labor and outdoor work.


Eligibility

- You are a citizen or a resident of one of the European Union countries;

- Your age be at least 18 years and under 30 years by the first day of the project;

- Passionate about community, sustainability, and hands-on projects;

Ready to dedicate your energy to practical work and communal involvement. 


Practical conditions and Benefits

- Participants will be accommodated in tents with communal showers and toilets, laundry and hangout spaces.

Participants will receive 3 vegetarian and vegan meals per day served by Ängsbacka kitchen, also you have access to tea and coffee, fruits or snacks. There is a private kitchen if you want to prepare something special for yourself.

- The community is completely alcohol- and drug-free environment.

- The community is accessible by the public transport. The nearest village "Molkom" is 2 km away, where you can find supermarket, gym ,health centre, etc.

- Each participants is entitled to received a pocket money of 6 EUR/day

The volunteers will be insured through Henner health insurance scheme. This will be provided for each volunteer by the organisers through Mobility Tool+ portal. ​ 

- Travel expenses from your home country to project venue will be reimbursed after participation in the project according to the distance between your  travelling place to the volunteering venue as follows:
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.
