Experiential Learning Forum| Volunteering project in Romania (Fully Funded)

Open call for Volunteers from across Europe to join summer volunteering project "Experiential Learning Forum" in Brasov, Romania. This project aims to promote non formal education, volunteering communities and the Erasmus+ program. This project is organised by "Asociatia Copiii in Sanul Familiei" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.

About the project

ELF - Experiential Learning Forum is a two rounds volunteering project aiming to promote non- formal education, volunteering communities, and the Erasmus+ programme. This first round of the project is addressed for 24 volunteers and the second round is for 17 volunteers. Through these two projects, volunteers will work towards social inclusion and active participation, solidarity and diversity and participation of fewer opportunities in the categories on youngsters from the North East and centre regions in Romania. 


Project Activities

for the first round : Team 1 ELF Festival 

Organise ELF Festival 2024, to promote non formal education through workshops and activities

Personal and professional development through theatre/volunteering/facilitation of activities

Intercultural activities in the community

Social media activities & Photo - Video - create visual and written content

for the first round : Team 2 ELF Community 

Organise workshops and activities for the “Community Empowerment activity”

- Preparing to host activities and workshops in the Brasov on different topics. Engage youth from local community

- Campaigns and workshops - raising awareness about volunteering, sustainability and civic engagement

- Social media activities & Photo - Video - create visual and written content


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 years old from the following countries (Romania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Sweden, Portugal, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia)

- This is a Teams Volunteering project, so its also open for people that did short/long term EVS/ESC volunteering project.

- Wiling to spend 6 weeks in rural area and travelling around.

- Willing to get involved in communities, talk to new people, make new friends.

- Motivated to put your talents in service of the community. 

- Able to communicate and work in English spoken and written.


Expenses and Benefits

- The accommodation is going to be in the city Brașov, in the heart of Transilvania Region, surrounded by mountains, where most of the activities are going to be held.

- Accommodation will be in a private dormitory, volunteers will be hosted in shared rooms (3-4 people per room). The apartment is equipped with kitchen and bathroom with hot water.

- Volunteers will have 270 Euro per month as a food allowance and pocket money.

- Volunteer will receive a food allowance to buy and prepare their foods plus a pocket money. Volunteers will take care of the management of the space, preparing food and cleaning.

Your travel costs to and from Romania will be reimbursed after the project according to the distance between your home and the project venue as the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 10 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 3000 and 3999 km: 530 EUR / person

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants will receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.

Timeline

Application deadline: 10th of June 2024

TEAM 1 project: 1st of July  to  17th of August, 2024 (travel days included)

TEAM 2 project: 21st of August to 27th of September, 2024 (travel days included)

Note: Application can be closed earlier than the scheduled time due to the number of the applications, so don't wait until the last moment and apply as soon as possible.
