Open call for 120 young people from across Europe and the Countries Neighbouring the EU to join the second edition of the European Rural Youth Summit [ERYS] in Iasi, Romania. This forum is organised by ANPCDEFP- Romanian National Agency and co-funded by the European Union.

About the ERYS

The second edition of the European Rural Youth Summit [SERIES], where continue its mission to develop the rural youth ecosystem in Europe under the theme “From Rural 2 Plural and Beyond”. This year aims to build on the achievements of the first edition of the summit, ensuring its legacy while focusing on the expansion of the European Youth Village program across Europe.

ERYS is organised under the umbrella of the European Youth Village Program together with the Romanian National Agency for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps (ANPCDEFP). It's not just a meeting; it's a way to make rural youth networks stronger, make sure young people are heard, and make real changes in European countryside communities. By participating in this forum, you will have the chance to:

- Get involved in creative and hands-on sessions with policymakers, young people from rural places, and experts in youth matters. Share your experiences and thoughts in ways that go beyond the usual methods.

- Help make the policy suggestions from the first summit actually work and make a difference. This involves taking the ideas and plans we've come up with in our policy document and turning them into real actions that can be put into practice in rural areas all across Europe.

- Attend workshops and sessions led by experts. This year, the workshops will focus on four key areas: [1] Youth Empowerment, [2] Embracing Differences, [3] Advancing Rural Communities, and [4] Mental and Physical Health.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- All young people from across Europe and the neighbouring countries of the EU (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Russian Federation, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine)

- Aged between 16-30 and living or coming from rural area

Participants can be workers, students, youth workers, policy makers, entrepreneurs, or activists who are passionate about rural development and want to make a difference in their communities. The underage participants may join only if they are accompanied by an adult person.

- Able to communicate and work in English, since it's the main language of the summit.

- Ready to participate actively in all the workshops and sessions during the time of the summit.


Expenses and Benefits

The participants will be accommodated in double rooms in a 3 starts hotel in Roman city.

- The activities will be e in Hălăucești – one of the villages that held the European Youth Village title in 2022 and 2023. Transfer from the hotel to the village will be provided by bus each morning and evening between the locations (25-30 minutes by car). 

- The food will be provided by the organisers (3 meals per day)

- For the international travel from your country of residence to Iasi, Participants are required to contact their National Agency (NA) in order to know whether they would support your travel costs or not. 

- Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. 


Logistics| How to get to the project venue ?

For international travel, Iași is the main air entrance in North-East Romania and its international airport has connections with a big variety of cities all over Europe. Another airport closer to Roman (the city where the participants will be accommodated) is Bacau. From Bucharest (Otopeni Airport), there are daily trains and buses to Roman.
