Rural Art Summer | ESC teams volunteering project in Spain (Fully Funded)

An exciting opportunity for young people from European countries to join a one and half month journey with "on&off" association in Camprovín, Spain. If you are interested in arts, culture and theatre then this volunteering project will be ideal opportunity for you. This project is supported and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.


About "on&off"

"ON & OFF" was established in Logroño, La Rioja as a Youth Theater Association with artistic and cultural purposes, non-profit organisation fostering rural development, sustainability, arts, and social inclusion via theatre. The objective of the association are:

- Bring together people interested in the performing arts in learning, experimentation and assembly groups.

- Organise recreational and cultural activities.

- Participate in Meetings, Exchanges, Contests and/or Competitions at a local, national or international level.

- Cooperate in the programming of local, national or international shows.


About the Project

ON&OFF invites the young people from across Europe to join its journey for 1.5 month in Camprovín (La Rioja), Spain to help in the staff in creating culturally enriched summer with artistic workshops, interventions and events. This summer, you can be part of something special! Help create Camprovinarte, a street art festival with international artists, and join local celebrations in Camprovín, Spain. You'll also work with the town hall on cultural events. We believe in inclusion, so this project will involve volunteers with disabilities. If you're accepting and up for a creative summer in La Rioja, promoting positive change, then apply!


Expenses and Benefits

- Volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms with other volunteers in a fully equipped apartment with kitchen, common area and a big garden..

- Volunteers will live and work in Camprovín, a magical village of 182 person with a vibrant community and endless outdoor adventures.

- Each volunteer is entitled to get a pocket money of 5 Euro/ day by the rules of the program.

- The food will be provided by the host organisation and prepared in alternating cooking teams.

- Your travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and Spain according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants will receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

This project is addressed to 10 volunteers from the following countries (Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Finland, Spain, Georgia, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Moldova (Republic of), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Canary Islands, French Polynesia)

- Aged between 18-30 years old by the time of the project.

- Open- minded people interested in arts, culture and theatre. 

- Ideal candidates those with digital skills such as recording videos, editing photos and videos, and graphic design for poster creation 

Spanish is not obligatory, but we want you to be aware of the fact that many of our activities are in Spanish.

- Strong motivation to work at an international event.

- Creativity and independence at work. 


What to bring?

- ID or Passport or any other document you use for travel.

- Towels, flip flops, hygiene products, and a hairdryer, if you need one.

- Medicine, if you have any specific illness or medical condition.

- Your flight tickets, bus tickets, train tickets, or any proof you have that you came to Spain.
