Open call for young people aged between 18-30 years old from European Countries to join two-week volunteering project "Continuing Hope, Building Together" in Morocco. The project is hosted by "CULTINED" organisation and funded by the European Solidarity Corps Programme of the European Union.

About the volunteering 

Continuing Hope, Building Together is a short-term volunteering project for young people to help in the rebuilding a small community in Morocco after September 2023 earthquake. The main activities for the volunteers will be as following

Repair: Assist with simple repairs to houses and schools

Support: Distribute food, water, and other essential supplies

Activities: Organise games and creative workshops for children

Sports and Games:  Arrange sports matches and play activities for local youth

Participants will Help in clear debris and clean up streets plus Plant trees and flowers to beautify spaces Conversations. You will have the opportunity to spend time with youths and elders to share stories and plan events to bring the community together. By joining this project you can develop valuable life skills  with experiencing Moroccan culture Connect with other Dutch volunteers Support a resilient community.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Participants must be aged between 18-30 years old ( not older than 31 years by the first day of the project);

Legal residents in one of the following countries who doesn't need visa to Morocco:

(Netherlands, Austria, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Aruba, Bonaire Sint Eustatius and Saba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten (dutch part), Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia)

Ready to live in a rural environment with basic conditions in tents;

- Wants to explore the beautiful nature of Morocco and do something good. 

- Speaking English is helpful but not required.


Expenses and Benefits

- Volunteers will be accommodated in a tent for 3 to 4 people, equipped with mattresses, blankets, and pillows.

- The sanitary and shower facilities are in line with local standards. There is a toilet cabin and a camping shower (20L) available.

 The accommodation provides basic comfort while allowing you to experience the authentic local environment of the Atlas Mountains.

- Each participants will receive three vegan meals per day.

You will receive 5 €/day for your living money as a pocket money in the local currency. 

Besides the European Health insurance card you are going to be offered a private insurance from HENNER too.

Your travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and Morocco according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.

Application deadline: 31st of May 2024

Arrival day: 6th of June 2024

Program starts: 7th of June 2024

Program ends: 20th of June 2024

Departure day: 21st of June 2024

Note: You have 4 extra days in total that you can use before or after the project to travel around Morocco. If you wish to do so, bare in mind that you need to cover the costs for your accommodation & food. Late arrivals or early departures are not allowed.
