Broaden our horizons 24/25 | ESC Volunteering in Poznan, Poland (Fully Funded)

An exciting opportunity for young people from all the European Solidarity Corps programme to apply for the long-term ESC volunteering "Broaden our horizons 24/25" for one year in Poznan, Poland. This volunteering opportunity is open for 6 international volunteers who are interested in non-formal education for kids, organising of cultural events or social media and project curating. This project is organised by "CIM Horyzonty" organisation and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.

About Poznan

Poznań, one of Poland's oldest cities, is known for its rich history and vibrant cultural scene. Situated on the Warta River, it features landmarks like the Renaissance-style Town Hall and the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul. Poznań is also a significant economic and academic hub, home to the renowned Poznań International Fair and several universities.


About the volunteering

Broaden our horizons 24/25 is a long-term volunteering project for 12 months in Poznan, Poland for 6 international volunteers. The volunteers will Support the development of activities for youngsters and seniors, which will include group activities, language activities, cultural activities, recycling workshops, sport activities and others, always with the association's team at CIM's office. there are different type of the support which the volunteers will do such as:

- School support where the volunteers will have the chance to have direct contact especially with children and youth as well as with local community and organise several outdoor activities.

- International support: helping the team in the organization of International Trainings for cooperation of people from different nationalities in various subjects, Youth Work Fields, for the promotion of volunteerism in various subjects and International Training and Exchange Programs.

Normal working hours for the volunteers will be around 6-7 hours per day (depends on the place where you will work).

- kindergartens

- schools

- cultural centers

- youth centers

- NGO’s Office


What you will learn?

During this volunteering experience, the volunteers will develop competencies in several areas such as:

- project management

- facilitation skills

- public performance

- language skills (Polish and English)

intercultural competencies - artistic expression (as the volunteer are free to choose the form of presentation content they want to deliver)

The learning process will be supported by both: ESC coordinator and supervisor in accordance with volunteer's learning objectives. ESC coordinator will help with setting learning objectives and monitoring learning process.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 years old;

- Citizen or a resident in one of the European Solidarity Corps programme countries, check the list from HERE

- Speaking and understanding English since is the language of the communication between the volunteers and the organisers

Volunteer should be enthusiastic, active, with some experience in these fields or strongly motivated to learn. 

The participant should either be interested in providing non-formal education, organisation of cultural events or social media & project curating.

The volunteers must share the organisation's values: a dedicated civic peace mindset, a transcultural and anti-discrimination stance, openness to cultural and social differences, and a commitment to inclusion, diversity, and cross-cultural collaboration.


Expenses and Benefits

- The volunteers will stay at student dormitory called Jurand in the central part of Poznań so all workplaces can be reached easily.

- You will stay in a single room with wifi, fridges and bed-sheets. The dormitory includes a common kitchen and bathroom.

- Each participant will receive 1100 PLN each month as a pocket and food money, which is totally enough for your personal expenses. 

Participants from EU countries should get the European Health Insurance Card, for non-EU residents, they will receive HENNER insurance for the whole period of the project.

- Participants who will need Type-D Visa for Poland, will get the invitation letter and the other necessary documents from the host organisation after the selection process.

Your international travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and Poland according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!

- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.
