Training course "Young Climate Professionals 2.0" in Zagreb, Croatia (Fully Funded)

An excellent opportunity for young people from across Europe and the surrounding countries who are interested in making a green impact in their local community or countries to join "Young Climate Professionals 2.0" online and in-person activity in Zagreb, Croatia. This programme is organised by THE CIVICS Innovation Hub and funded by the European Union.

About YCP 2.0

YCP is a green literacy initiative organised by THE CIVICS Innovation Hub in collaboration with its partners Znanje na djelu/Wissen am Werk and the Sofia Platform Foundation, co-funded by the European Union. The project aims to enhance green literacy and sustainability skills among young people across Europe and the surrounding countries. Through a variety of engaging activities, participants explore different topics related to the European Green Deal. YCP offers a comprehensive learning experience that includes expert talks, group discussions, and hands-on assignments on online collaboration platforms. Participants are encouraged and supported to develop their own green project ideas. In addition to receiving expert insights, participants can co-host their own webinar and get individual consultations from experienced civil society professionals. These steps are designed to prepare participants for the YCP Campus, where they present their project ideas with the opportunity to secure a mini grant to bring their project plans to life.

By participating in YCP,

- you will improve your sustainability skills and become a catalyst for change within your community. 

- You'll have the chance to address climate issues and support the green transition in an inclusive way.

- In addition to connecting with like-minded youth from across Europe and learning from grassroots initiatives, you'll attend the 2.5-day YCP Campus in Zagreb, Croatia, with all expenses covered. Furthermore, the most exceptional project ideas will be awarded mini grants to aid their execution. By completing all activities, you, as part of the YCP cohort 24/25, will join a growing network of Young Climate Professionals in Europe, working together on green projects to help achieve Europe's carbon neutrality goals by 2050.

Eligibility| Who can apply?

- Young adults aged between 18-25 years;

- Applications are open for applicants of wider Europe, Preferential treatment of applicants from Eastern/Southeastern Europe, the Baltics and the Mediterranean region;

- Applicants must have a good English proficiency;

- Having a strong motivation to have an impact on the sphere of green literacy in your community;

- Able to join actively all the project activities (on- and offline);

- Innovation and novelty of your project proposal.

Expenses and Benefits

- There is no participation fee to participate in the project

- During the onsite YCP Campus in Zagreb, food and accommodation will be provided for by the organisers.

- Travel costs to and from Zagreb will be reimbursed by the organisers according to the maximum limits as following:

• for travel distance between 1 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person
• for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
• for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
• for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.
