Swedish Institute Leader Lab Program 2025 in Sweden (Funded)

An excellent opportunity for 100 leaders in civil society, culture, and media across Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans, and Türkiye to join for the Swedish Institute Leader lab – Connecting leaders in civil society. SI Leader lab is a great opportunity to enhance your leadership skills, and exchange knowledge within a network of inspiring peers. The program is organised and funded by the Swedish Institute.

About SI Leader Lab 2025

SI Leader Lab is designed to enhance the capacity of organizations in driving effective advocacy efforts related to democracy, human rights, and freedom of expression. The program connects influential civil society leaders who are open to digital innovations and new methodologies. Participants come from various sub-sectors, allowing for a broad exchange of insights and perspectives. Each year, 100 participants from Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans, and Türkiye are selected to take part.

The program combines online workshops, organised in both regional and cross-regional learning groups, with continuous coaching support. In May, all participants gather in Stockholm for an intensive week of in-person learning, strengthening their experience and fostering collaboration. In the autumn, participants have the option to implement a change project within their organisation, though this is not mandatory.

SI Leader Lab offers a valuable opportunity to advance advocacy strategies, expand professional networks, and explore innovative tools and methods. It also fosters both personal and professional growth, providing leaders with renewed confidence, strategic insights, and the skills to build a more sustainable team culture.

To facilitate the application of program insights within organisations, colleagues from the same organisation are encouraged to apply. While each application is evaluated individually, priority is often given to organisations with multiple qualified applicants.
