An open call for 17 volunteers from EU countries to join the ESC Short-term volunteering project "Rurality Art Fest" for one month in the rural context of Sierra Sur de Sevilla, Spain. The Rurality Art Fest is organised by Vitality, a dynamic project funded by the European Solidarity Corps Programme and coordinated by Associazione Vagamondo (the lead organisation). The initiative aims to encourage active citizenship, personal growth, and community development through volunteering. It emphasises fostering solidarity, supporting rural development, and promoting sustainability and well-being, particularly among young people with fewer opportunities.
About the Volunteering
"Rurality Art Fest" brings together 17 European young people (18-30 years old) for one month of volunteering in the rural context of Sierra Sur de Sevilla, Spain. During this phase, volunteers will focus on the research, conceptualisation, and design of the festival, working on programming, partnerships, communication, and artistic curation to lay the foundations for its future realisation. The main volunteering areas are:

As a volunteer for the Rurality Art Festival, you'll help organise and promote the event by connecting with artists, stakeholders, and sponsors, managing social media, and creating content. You'll support the development of the festival program, assist with the website and promotional materials, and engage with the local community. This hands-on role offers experience in event organisation and cultural management. Volunteers will also share daily tasks like cooking and organising meals, fostering a collaborative and creative team atmosphere.
Volunteers will spend seven days disconnecting from digital devices to focus on self-discovery and building meaningful connections. Led by experienced supervisors, the immersive experience promotes creativity, empathy, and teamwork through in-person interactions.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Young people aged between 18 -30 years old
- A legal resident in one of the European Union countries
- You are facing challenging situations in your life as described here
- Interested in getting to know and cooperate with other volunteers from different countries and backgrounds
- Ready to live for one month in a rural environment in Spain, discover the local area and get to know its inhabitants
- Willing to improve your practical and manual skills, your group work competencies and your sense of initiative
- Ready to live in a historical building for 4 weeks and have fun!
Expenses and Benefits
- Volunteers will live together in a Convent in shared rooms (2 people in same room).
- You will receive 6€/day for your living money. That is not a payment for the support given, but a flat rate refund for small expenses.
- Volunteers will be provided with a place for cooking and will receive a weekly budget for the group in order to cook all together.
- Besides the European Health insurance card, you are going to be offered private insurance from HENNER company.
- There is a budget to reimburse the travel of the volunteers depending on the distance of their place of residence, calculated with the Distance Calculator
- from 0 - 99 km = 28€
- from 100 - 499 km = 211€
- from 500 - 1999 km = 309€
- from 2000 - 2999 km = 395€
- from 3000 - 3999 km = 580€
