An exciting opportunity for 12 young volunteers from all over Europe who are interested in the Environment and natural protection to join the ESC Team Volunteering project "ReGreen" which takes place at Suderbyn Permaculture Ecovillage in Visby, Sweden, from the 2nd of July to the 23rd of July 2025. This volunteering project is organised by "RELEARN SUDERBYN" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.
About the Volunteering
The ReGreen project offers a unique 21-day experience where 12 young people from across Europe come together to live, learn, and grow in the Suderbyn Permaculture Ecovillage in Sweden. Rooted in sustainability and community values, the project blends educational, practical, and social elements, encouraging participants to engage deeply with a simple, eco-conscious lifestyle.
The project weaves together 3 themes over the course of 3 weeks:
(1) Infrastructure-specific project: This year, Suderbyn wants to install a new greenhouse to improve and extend our vegetable production. This means identifying the best place according to permaculture principles, setting up the new poly-tunnel, and working the soil to create new beds.
(2) Permaculture: Volunteers will explore permaculture design principles and how they are being applied in our organic community garden. The tasks (foraging, processing, forest-garden care, weeding, harvesting...) will allow volunteers to come into closer connection with the land and its more-than-human inhabitants, as well as to develop a deeper understanding of the soil and the ecosystem, and the food the land provides.
(3) Personal and group development with the social domain and the community’s NGO RELEARN.
