Are you looking for a summer Adventure in France? Are you interested in the Environment and natural protection? Do you want to volunteer abroad and meet new people from different European countries? If so, then this is your chance to apply for the ESC Team Volunteering project "ANEC19ESC - Solidarity Gardens" which takes place in Clermont-Ferrand, France, from the 1st to the 15th of September 2025. This volunteering project is organised by "Etudes et Chantiers" and funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps programme.
About ANEC19ESC - Solidarity Gardens
ANEC19ESC - Solidarity Gardens is a short-term summer volunteer workcamp at the Natural Market Gardens of Grigny, where for over a decade, volunteers and staff have collaborated on sustainable farming and community projects. This year, you’ll help build a new public rest area on the farm, crafting wooden benches and picnic tables under the guidance of a technical supervisor. Participants will learn about sustainable construction techniques and the basics of market gardening and permaculture, discovering environmentally friendly farming practices.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Highly motivated young people aged 18 to 30 coming from one of the EU Member states or Iceland.
- Participants should be ready to join volunteering activities and willing to stay for the entire duration of the activity.
- Participants who are Willing to contribute to the program with their activity or workshop.
- You are not afraid of challenges, willing to step out of your comfort zone, open-minded, and seeking to meet new people from different countries.
- Participants are expected to have a good level of English.
- There is no experience or educational level requirement to apply for this volunteering project.
Expenses and Benefits
- Volunteers will be accommodated in individual tents in a shaded area of the farm park, close to the association’s communal living facilities: kitchen, marquee, showers, toilets, and gathering spaces.
- All meals during the workcamp project will be provided by the organizers.
- Participants who will stay the whole duration of the project are entitled to receive a pocket money.
- Participants from EU countries should get the European Health Insurance Card; for non-EU citizens, they will receive HENNER insurance for the whole period of the project.
- Your international travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and France, according to the following limits:
- from 10 – 99 km - 56 EUR (Green Travel)/ 28 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 100 – 499 km - 285 EUR (Green Travel)/ 211 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 500 – 1999 km - 417 EUR (Green Travel)/ 309 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 2000 – 2999 km - 395 EUR (Green Travel)/ 535 EUR (Non-Green Travel)

IMPORTANT:
- Keep all your travel documents and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
- Please send your travel proposition by email to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project, where you are expected to self-assess your own learning, and you can add it to your CV.
