An exciting opportunity for young people aged between 18 and 30 years old from all over Europe who are interested in joining a one-month summer volunteering project in the countryside in Northern Hessen, Germany, to apply for the ESC Team volunteering project "Deep into life II" which takes place in the beautiful countryside of Hilgershausen, Germany from the 1st to 31st of July 2025. This volunteering project is organised by GRUENER GRASHALM e.V. and funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps programme.
About the Volunteering
In this intercultural project in the center of Germany, volunteers will plant the seeds of a space for community living and networking. Since the aim of this project is to create a place to meet and to live with each other, you will get involved in some renovation work on old houses, gardening, and village networking events.
Besides the working part, participants will dive deeper into life within nature and create spaces of self-experience. Did you ever dream about setting off with little equipment and spending a night in the forest? To learn the basics of survival in the woods? You will have the chance for it.
Outside of our comfort zone, we will grow. By foot in the hills and by boat on the river, we will experience the area of the Meißner nature reserve up close.
Specific activities that you will choose from:
- Wilderness pedagogic and survival lessons
- experiential education: self-experience and teaching
- hiking trip to the magical Meißner mountain
- planting trees
- music evenings
- dance events
- visiting alternative communities
