An open call for young people aged between 18 and 30 years from European Union Member states who are willing to get rid of the digital detox and stay peacefully in a small village, and take part in the practice of organic food production and garden maintenance, to apply for the ESC Team Volunteering "Ready for a digital detox?". The project will take place above the small village of Pécsely, about 15km north of the iconic Lake Balaton, from 1 to 21 September 2025. This volunteering project is organized by "Mindenegyüttmegy Egyesület" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.
About the Volunteering
"Ready for a digital detox?" is a three-week ESC team volunteering project that takes place in the small village of Pécsely, about 15 km north of the iconic Lake Balaton. In this project, you will join a group of dedicated people working, learning, and living together, building a shared dream rooted firmly in the earth.
This project represents more than just volunteering; it's an invitation to join a living experiment, a journey towards a more sustainable, connected, and meaningful way of life. It’s your chance to become part of a story that is still unfolding, contributing your energy and ideas to our growing eco-community. The experience is designed to be authentic, embracing the challenges of off-grid living and offering a chance to reconnect with the land, with each other, and perhaps with a different way of being.
As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the basics of permaculture and get hands-on experience in growing organic food and maintaining a garden. You'll also learn food preservation methods, help prepare garden spaces, create compost, and discover how to forage for edible wild plants. Your contributions will support meaningful and lasting initiatives. Additionally, you'll take part in eco-construction activities, such as enhancing our outdoor shower area by using natural building techniques like weaving frames and coating them with clay.
