An open call for 15 participants from across Europe to attend an immersive course on new ways of learning and living through the lens of permaculture. "Resilience and Regeneration is a one-week training course on permaculture, which takes place in Casa Algaia, Aguaron, Spain, from 15 - 20 October 2025. The training course is organised by El Cicutar (Youth NGO) and co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
About the Project
Permaculture is a holistic design system rooted in the observation of natural ecosystems. It provides a set of ethics and principles that guide us in regenerating human habitats. At its core, permaculture emphasizes the harmonious integration of people with the landscape, ensuring that both thrive in balance.
This course is an immersive training experience where you'll learn permaculture theory and techniques to create and sustain thriving ecosystems, as well as social permaculture activities. The main activities during the course will be:
- Working with the Food Forest: Participate in hands-on activities such as creating a vegetable garden, learn how to harvest water, making biofertilizers, and planting trees strategically.
- Ecological Construction: Discover eco-friendly building techniques, including thermal insulation and compost toilets, while learning how to integrate sustainable systems into your home and garden
- Flexible Learning: Activities may change depending on the season and participants’ interests, offering a dynamic and adaptable learning experience.
- What You’ll Take Away: Leave with practical knowledge, hands-on skills, and the inspiration to implement regenerative projects in your own space.
Project Venue
"Casa Algaia" is located in a quiet corner next to Cariñena, in a beautiful valley in Sierra de Algairén (Zaragoza). The landscape is dotted with almond trees, olive trees, and vines.
Casa Algaia is a space where ecology, social transformation, and art can take place and meet. It is a self-sufficient off-grid project, oriented towards permaculture and ecology. Electricity comes only from solar energy, and its garden and fruit trees help to nourish us.
