NUS Young Fellowship Programme 2026 in Singapore (Funded)

An excellent opportunity for undergraduate students and young scholars from across the world to apply for the NUS Young Fellowship Programme (NYFP) 2026. The programme is a one-month hybrid academic fellowship focused on AI andGraduate Research, combining an on-site programme in Singapore with online tutorials. The fellowship will take place from 22 June to 24 July 2026, with the final online presentation on 24 July 2026. The fellowship programme is organised by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Graduate School and the NUS School of Continuing and Lifelong Education.



About the NUS Young Fellowship Programme

The NUS Young Fellowship Programme 2026 is designed to provide outstanding students with graduate-level research and postgraduate study opportunities at NUS, with a central theme of “AI and Graduate Research.”

The programme begins with a 5-day on-site academic experience in Singapore (22–26 June 2026), featuring face-to-face lectures, workshops, research lab visits, and academic networking activities led by NUS professors and researchers. Fellows will also visit cutting-edge research facilities and selected local attractions.

Following the on-site component, participants engage in three weeks of online tutorials and hands-on project work (26 June – 24 July 2026), culminating in an online final presentation on 24 July 2026. The programme is designed to strengthen participants’ research thinking, presentation skills, and readiness for graduate studies.


Eligibility | Who Can Apply?

Applicants from all countries are welcome to apply. The programme is open to:

- Senior undergraduate students (Year 3 or above)

- Students with outstanding academic records

- Highly motivated individuals interested in research, AI, and postgraduate studies

Selection is based on:

- Academic excellence

- Diversity of academic, personal, and professional backgrounds

- Exceptional achievements beyond academics

- There is no stated age limit for this programme.

- Complimentary on-campus accommodation during the 5-day on-site programme (22-26 JunE 2026) is covered 

- SGD 500 travel allowance (awarded upon successful completion of the full programme)

Important cost notes:

- Airfare to and from Singapore is not covered

- Participants are responsible for lunch and dinner during the on-site programme (estimated SGD 10–15 per meal)

- Any personal or non-programme-related expenses are the participant’s responsibility

- Full participation in both the on-site and online components is required to qualify for the SGD 500 award

Application Materials

Applicants must prepare the following documents:

  • Detailed CV (maximum 2 A4 pages)
  • Personal statement or reflective essay (maximum 1,000 words) on one of the following:
  • A research area of strong personal interest and its anticipated development
  • A current social issue of personal relevance, including insights on potential solutions
  • Academic transcript (optional but highly recommended)
  • Two letters of recommendation (optional but strongly encouraged, preferably from faculty members)
  • Passport-size photo
