About Istanbul
Istanbul is located in the northwest of the Marmara region in Türkiye, and it is divided into two parts separated by the Bosphorus Strait, which makes the city located on two continents at one time: Europe and Asia. It is the largest city in Türkiye and the seventh largest city in the world in terms of population, with a population of about 15 million people. Istanbul contains many wonderful tourist places, including: Sultanahmet District, Hagia Sophia Mosque, Dolmabahce Palace, Galata Tower, Bosphorus Strait, Topkapi Palace and Suleymaniye Mosque.
About Marmara Law Association
The founding phase of Marmara Law Association was completed in December 2014. The basic principles of Marmara Law Association are teamwork, dignity and development. The first activities of the association were to set up a computer class in Soma (Manisa, Türkiye), at Namek Kemal Primary School, which was damaged by a major mining accident, and to hold a seminar on the legal dimension of mining accidents. MLA's first international project was Youth Istanbul'18. It was held in April of 2018. Marmara Law Society has been working based on exemplary law education and the global agenda since its foundation.
About the Youth Istanbul Project 26
The Youth Istanbul Project will be organised for the ninth time in Türkiye by the members of the Marmara Law Association. By joining this event, participants will have the chance to learn about the economic, academic, and cultural life in Istanbul. The participants will also have an opportunity to step into the global world and the professional arena.
The participants will have the opportunity to become acquainted with key players in Turkey’s legal world about AI. Additionally, cultural trips will be arranged in two parts for each continent, allowing participants to explore Istanbul’s rich historical and mystical character. During their stay, guests will make international friends while attending social events organised by the Youth Istanbul Organisation Team. They will also have the chance to experience Turkish culture firsthand as they stay with local hosts.
This academically significant event provides an opportunity for our guests to explore a new country while enhancing their social skills and gaining a deeper understanding of various cultures, as well as the role of AI in law.
Eligibility and Criteria for Youth Istanbul Project
- This Project is for students and recent graduates from all over the world.
- Applicants from Türkiye are not eligible to join this project.
- Applicants must be aged between 18 and 27 years to apply.
- It is not required to have a degree or have current studies in law school or Art to apply, but you should be interested in these areas.
- Having a good level of English
Financial conditions for YIP 2026
- There is no application or participation fee for joining YIP 26.
- Participants will be hosted by hosts in Istanbul. Hosts shall provide a clean and comfortable room with access to free wifi for the participants. Hosts will always be in touch with you in case of any kind of emergency situation.
- The participants will have free access to the kitchen at their host’s place.

- Travel costs and travel insurance from your country to Istanbul are all yours.
