An exciting opportunity for young people from a member state of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) or OIC observer countries to join the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) Young Climate Volunteers Camp 2026, which will take place from 3 April 2026 to 15 April 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye. The camp is organised and funded by the ICYF in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye.

About the Volunteer camp

ICYF Young Climate Volunteers Camp 2026 is a 6-day camp under the theme of "Empowering Youth for Climate Action to Build Climate-Resilient Communities". It aims to provide young people with practical skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to hazardous events, trends, or disturbances related to climate. The camp seeks to translate global climate challenges into tangible local action while fostering a new generation of youth leaders committed to safeguarding societal well-being through project-based training. 

The camp's main objectives are:

- Raise awareness of climate change.

- Create youth-led action against climate change.

- Promote youth-led leadership in the OIC region and beyond to advocate for solutions in their local communities.

- Initiate youth-led project ideas for the benefit of the communities.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

The applicant should meet the following criteria:

- Be 18–35 years old and a citizen of an OIC Member State or OIC Observer Country, check the list HERE

- Demonstrate interest or engagement in climate change, climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, or environmental volunteering

- Be willing to participate in volunteer-based and field activities

- Committed to full participation in the camp

- Have a working knowledge of English

- Show motivation to share and apply the knowledge gained within their communities


Expenses and Benefits

- International participants from outside Turkiye will cover their own international transportation expenses in advance, and then the Host Organizers will reimburse international transportation expenses up to 250 US $.

The Host Organizers will reimburse domestic transportation of the participants (who live in Türkiye) up to 3500 TL (Turkish Liras). 

The Host Organizers will also provide bus shuttles for local transfers in Istanbul (from Istanbul Airport, Sabiha Gokcen Airport, or Istanbul Bus Station to the camp area and back) 

- Accommodation, food, and city tour costs related to local hospitality will be covered by the host organizers. 

- Health insurance coverage will be provided to participants for the duration of the camp. Any additional insurance requirements, including but not limited to travel insurance, shall be arranged and covered by the participants at their own expense.

- The Host Organizers will provide a participation confirmation letter for the necessary visa application process. The participants will cover their visa costs and manage the visa procedure on their own. 

- Participants who fully attend will be awarded a certificate of participation issued by the ICYF and program partners.

  • For Young Males: 03 - 08 April 2026
  • For Young Females: 10 - 15 April 2026

To apply, kindly submit this application form in English no later than the 15th of February 2026.
