An open call for young people aged between 18 and 30 from EU countries who are willing to join a one-month ESC team volunteering project on Environment and Natural Protection in the North of Iceland. Forestry and Environmental is a short-term ESC team Volunteering, which takes place in Siglufjörður, Iceland, from 1-29th of July 2026. This team Volunteering Project is organised by "Worldwide Friends Iceland" and funded by the "European Solidarity Corps" programme of the European Union.
About the Volunteering
This environmental volunteering project takes place in Siglufjörður, North Iceland, where participants support the local community through forestry work, beach cleaning (April–June), and environmental maintenance (June–September). Tasks vary depending on seasonal needs and daily priorities, requiring flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to engage in outdoor physical work. Volunteers work around 5 hours per day, 5 days a week, gaining hands-on experience in reforestation, forest care, trail maintenance, and basic construction. Beyond practical skills, the project promotes sustainability awareness, cultural exchange, and intercultural learning, all while allowing participants to enjoy the peaceful and stunning natural landscapes of northern Iceland.
