An open call for young people from across Europe and the neighbouring countries from Africa and Asia to apply for the exciting volunteering project "Youth Summer Fest - 5th", which takes place in Timisoara, Romania, from 19th of July to 17th of August 2026. This volunteering project is organised by the FiTT organisation and funded by the European Solidarity Corps program of the European Union.
About the Volunteering Project
The 5th edition of the Youth Summer Fest in Timisoara, Romania, is a Summer movement where young people create experiences for other young people, learn by doing, and turn their energy into real impact. Since 2022, YSF has brought together international and local volunteers in a vibrant exchange and learning context. This is not just a festival! It’s a learning festival. Here, you don’t just “help out”; you grow, experiment, facilitate, reflect, and level up your skills while having an amazing summer.
For 30 days (19th of July – 17th of August 2026), dedicated volunteers transform Timișoara and Lugoj into a playground for creativity, collaboration, and community vibes. From concerts and public celebrations to interactive workshops, educational sessions, and fun challenges, everything is organised #ByYouForYouth.
Eligibility | Who can Apply?
- Young People aged between 18 and 30
- Able to communicate in English
- Have a residence in one of the ESC Eligible Countries
- Be Open-minded, Flexible, and Tolerant
Important: Keep in mind that volunteering within the ESC is a privilege, and everyone who is selected, as well as community participants, deserves to be treated with respect for their beliefs, culture, sexual orientation, and everything else. We do not accept racism, sexism, or harassment.
Expenses and Benefits
- Your accommodation will be provided by the host organisation. You will stay for 1 month in one of the student dorms of Timisoara, and for one week, in a dorm in Lugoj.
- The facilities of the accommodation will be shared bedrooms, 3-4 beds per room, a shared kitchen and bathroom, a chill space outside, and an internet connection.
- The meals will be your responsibility: you will have an equipped kitchen to use, and you’ll receive 5 EUR in food allowance/day, and of course, pocket money too, 4 EUR/day (this money will be received in Romanian currency in cash, or by bank transfer.
- International travel costs from your country of residence to Timisoara and back will be covered by the programme according to the ESC rules as follows:
- from 10 – 99 km - 56 EUR (Green Travel)/ 28 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 100 – 499 km - 285 EUR (Green Travel)/ 211 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 500 – 1999 km - 417 EUR (Green Travel)/ 309 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 2000 – 2999 km - 395 EUR (Green Travel)/ 535 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 3000 – 3999 km - 785 EUR (Green Travel)/ 580 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
- from 4000 – 7999 km is 1188 EUR (Non-Green Travel)

IMPORTANT:
- Keep all your travel documents and tickets for reimbursement. No documents = No reimbursement!
- Please email your travel proposal to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project, where you are expected to self-assess your own learning, and you can add it to your CV.

What to Bring with You?
- ID / Passport or any other document you use for travel;
- Towels, flip flops, hygiene products, and a hairdryer, if you need one;
- Medicine, if you have any specific illness or medical condition;
- Things to bring with you for the intercultural nights (find out more on the next page);
- Come loaded with creativity, energy, and patience, as there is a lot to do;
- Your flight tickets, bus tickets, train tickets, or any proof you have that you came to Timișoara (we are collecting them at the end of the project)
