About Aruba

Aruba, often called "One Happy Island," is a stunning Caribbean paradise known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and year-round sunshine. But Aruba is more than just a beautiful destination—it’s a vibrant island full of culture, warmth, and creativity.

Why you’ll love volunteering in Aruba:

1. Breathtaking nature: Relax on Eagle Beach (one of the best beaches in the world!), explore Arikok National Park, or swim in hidden natural pools.

2. Rich culture & music: Experience Aruba’s diverse cultural heritage through local music, dance, and festivals influenced by Dutch, African, and Latin American traditions.

3. Delicious food: Try local specialties like keshi yena (stuffed cheese), pastechi (savory pastries), and fresh seafood.

4. Friendly community:  Arubans are known for their hospitality, openness, and positive vibes. English is widely spoken, and you’ll feel welcome everywhere you go.

5. Creative energy: Aruba’s artistic scene is booming, from colorful street art in San Nicolas to lively cultural performances and emerging fashion.

Living in Aruba during the DDD project means not just volunteering, but experiencing a life-changing cultural immersion in a place that will leave a lasting impression on your heart.
