An excellent opportunity for last year university students and graduates from EU Member States, Iceland, Norway, or Switzerland who are willing to get first-hand experience to temporarily become a part of EUSPA by joining the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) traineeships for a period of 6 months. EUSPA offers Traineeships in different areas of study at one of the Agency's sites in the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, and Spain.

European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) is responsible for delivering secure European satellite navigation services and supporting the development and commercialisation of major EU space programmes, including Galileo, European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), and Copernicus services and data. The agency is also involved in secure satellite communication initiatives such as GOVSATCOM and IRIS², while operating the Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) Front Desk.
Through these activities, EUSPA helps strengthen Europe’s independence in space technologies, encourages innovation and creativity, and supports important sectors such as transport, agriculture, and security. About EUSPA Traineeships
EUSPA provides university students and graduates with a unique and first-hand experience to temporarily become a part of EUSPA and see the workings of EU agencies and institutions.
The regular paid traineeships are designed to be for 6 months, with the possibility of being extended for a maximum duration of 12 months, and we advise you to submit your application as soon as possible, before the deadline, as the eligible applications are evaluated on a regular basis.
There are two main Traineeship Programmes
(1) Traineeship in Corporate Services & Administration
Applicants may indicate up to three (3) areas of interest from the following list:
- Accounting and Finance
- Communications
- Corporate Quality and Inspector General
- Facilities
- Human Resources
- Information and Communication Technology
- Legal and Procurement
- Office of the Executive Director
- Project Control
Applicants may indicate up to three (3) areas of interest from the following list:

- Market, Downstream and Innovation
- Project Management Office and Quality
- Secure Communication
- Security
- Space Surveillance and Tracking
The final assignment will depend on the Agency’s needs and the candidate’s profile.
The position requires relocation to one of the Agency's sites. Applicants will be asked to indicate in the application form all the locations to which they are willing to relocate:
- Czech Republic (Prague)
- France ( Saint-Germain-en-Laye, or Toulouse)
- the Netherlands (Noordwijk)
- Spain ( Torrejón de Ardoz, San MartÃn de la Vega)
Tasks and Responsibilities
Depending on the assigned department/team, trainees may be involved in the following tasks:
- Support the administrative, organisational, and coordination activities of the assigned department/team;
- Assist with internal coordination, reporting, and the preparation and maintenance of documentation and databases;
- Contribute to different activities related to administration, communication, human resources, legal and procurement, accounting, finance and project control, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), facilities, and corporate quality;
- Support the implementation of internal policies, procedures, and processes;
- Participate in meetings and assist with the drafting of notes, presentations, background research and analyses;
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders and support ad-hoc tasks as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Traineeships are open to applicants who have not previously undertaken a traineeship in the Agency and who meet the following requirements:
- Be a national of the Member States of the European Union, Iceland, Norway or Switzerland;
- No age limit is imposed on the candidates for traineeships.
- Have a recognised higher education degree, or, in the case of candidates who are at the end of their studies, an official attestation from their college or university stating the marks obtained;
- Have interest or knowledge about one or more areas of work of the Agency obtained during their studies/research projects/traineeships or through previous professional experience;
- Have a thorough knowledge of one official language of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the European Union; one of these languages must be the working language of the Agency (English);
- Have a clean criminal record.
Note: If an application is unsuccessful, a candidate may reapply for another traineeship. It is, however, necessary to submit a new application.
Selection Criteria
- Motivation to work in one or more areas under Corporate Services & Administration;
- Knowledge (by training or experience) relevant to one or more of the corporate and support areas covered by this vacancy notice;
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English;
- Effective communication;
- Ability to work in a team and in a multicultural environment;
- Organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail;
- Good knowledge of IT applications (Word, Excel, PPT and any other is an asset).
Required documents
Before the commencement of the traineeship, the candidate will be required to provide the following documents:
- Passport or ID (proof of nationality);
- Diplomas or academic qualifications are needed to prove that they satisfy the admission criteria.
- An excerpt from police records or equivalent certificate;
- Documents showing that the trainee has public or private health insurance cover for accident insurance and sickness insurance against health risks for the entire duration of the traineeship period;
- A medical certificate confirming that the trainee is fit for work and free of any contagious diseases;
- Declaration of confidentiality and absence of conflict of interest.
Expenses & Benefits
- Trainees receive a monthly grant for a full-time traineeship of €1,500.00.
- Trainees may also be entitled to get reimbursement of their travel expenses from/to their place of origin.
- Trainees shall be responsible for organising their own sickness insurance against health risks and their own accident insurance.
- If an applicant with a recognised disability is selected, he/she shall receive a 50% supplement of the amount of the grant to cover additional costs.
