An open call for 25 young people aged between 18 and 30 from across Europe to join the ESC Volunteering Teams "Sommerwerft Theatre Festival", which takes place for around a month from 17 July to 11 August 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The project is organised by "association PROTAGON e.V.". and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.
About the volunteering
"Sommerwerft Theatre Festival" is a short-term volunteering project that brings together 25 participants from all over Europe to volunteer for around a month with the association "PROTAGON e. V." in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
The team of 25 people arrives a few days before the build-up of the festival starts. The volunteers will sleep in a living and working community, where about 160 people share a house and a big garden. To go to the festival place that is in the city centre of Frankfurt, volunteers can take one of our bikes or use our shuttle service. The working tasks are not directly related to something artistic.
Tasks include maintaining the community place, and helping to take care of a specific area of the festival (concert tent or stage, bar, cafe, or food stand, children's program...). The festival lasts 17 days. The activity ends with 3 build-down days of the festival, and some extra days where volunteers are invited to reflect and celebrate together.
