An exciting opportunity for young people from across Europe to join the ESC Team Volunteering project "Make it Green 2026", which aims to support the preservation of the local environment and local cultural heritage presented by the terraced landscape in the small town of Tramonti in the rural area of the Amalfi Coast, Italy, from 15 July to 26 August 2026. The volunteering project is organised by the "ACARBIO" organisation and co-funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European UNION.
About the volunteering
ACARBIO Organization, from the small town of Tramonti in the rural area of the Amalfi Coast, working for the preservation of the local environment and local cultural heritage, is presented by the terraced landscape. ACARBIO is inviting young people to spend around 6 weeks volunteering with the "Make it Green 2026."
The main objectives of the project include:
- Landscape and patrimony protection of the terraced landscape; Rural development of Tramonti;
- Promotion of sustainable development and solidarity by volunteers.
The activities will include some of the following to support the local environment and do activities for the local community, such as environmental clean-ups, cleaning hiking paths from vegetation, doing artistic murals, helping local farmers, renewing public spaces, and Similar activities.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- The project is open to young people aged 18–30 from different European countries (Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine).
- Volunteers who have an interest in helping local rural communities through volunteering and being in nature.
- You are ok with sharing spaces in a public school transformed into a summer camp with 14 other people.
- No specific experience is required; anyone can bring their own contribution, like artistic skills in decorating walls, photo/video making, and social media.
Expenses and Benefits
- Participants will be hosted in the kindergarten - school of Tramonti on the Amalfi Coast. Classes will be equipped with mattresses and camping beds.
- The facility includes bathrooms with toilets and 2 outdoor showers. The kitchen will be shared.
- A set of rules is established for the accommodation, and we expect volunteers to respect them.
- The association will provide food for all volunteers.
- Each participant is entitled to get a travel reimbursement for (one return journey) up to the maximum cost as stated in the ESC programme rules, according to the following limits:
- from 10-99 km: standard travel (23 EUR) / Green travel (23 EUR)
- from 100 - 499 km: standard travel (211 EUR) / Green travel (285 EUR)
- from 500 - 1999 km: standard travel (309 EUR) / Green travel (417 EUR)
- from 2000 - 2999 km: standard travel (395 EUR) / Green travel (535 EUR)
