An open call for volunteers from the European Union countries to join the ESC Team Volunteering "Step by Step ESC in Siirt 3" which takes place in Siirt, Turkiye, for 30 days from 15 August to 15 September 2026. This volunteering project is organized by "Cedid" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.
About Siirt
Siirt is a city full of natural wonders, including Botan Valley, as well as historic castles and bustling local markets. It offers an immersive experience with local culture and traditions, in a friendly small-city environment that makes it easy for volunteers to adapt.
About the project
Cedid is one of the biggest organizations working with the European Solidarity Corps in Turkyie which aims to develop awareness and harmony among different cultures.
Volunteers will participate in three tasks:
- Learn with us: Volunteers will attend courses, trainings, activities, and workshops about sustainable environment, handcraft, content creation, and effective social media use.
- Teach us in the Speaking club: Teach about your country of origin or organize activities about your interests and teach the local volunteers what you learned from our project in our speaking club!
- Assistance: Assist youth centers, schools, and local partners. Understanding the local community & its dynamics. Organize an Intercultural Night / Cultural event in which volunteers present their culture to the local community. Optional materials they may bring:
- traditional accessories, music, small items,
- cultural games, photos, presentations, etc.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Young people aged between 18 and 30 from one of the following countries ( Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden).
- Be open-minded, flexible, tolerant, and communicative.
- Having experience as a local volunteer.
- Willing to participate in teamwork.
- Have at least beginner-level English knowledge.
Expenses and Benefits
- Cedid Association has a flat for volunteers’ accommodation. Several rooms have 2,3 or 4 beds, depending on their size. The kitchen, toilets, and living room are for common use.
- Each participant will receive financial support of 12 EUR a day as pocket money and food allowance.
- Each participant is entitled to get a travel reimbursement for (one return journey) up to the maximum cost as stated in the ESC programme rules, according to the following limits:
- from 100 - 499 km: standard travel (211 EUR)
- from 500 - 1999 km: standard travel (309 EUR)
- from 2000 - 2999 km: standard travel (395 EUR)
- from 3000 - 3999 km: standard travel (580 EUR)
- from 4000 - 7999 km: standard travel (1188 EUR)
- Each participant will get health and accident insurance from HENNER.
- YouthPass certificate by the end of the project.
