An exciting opportunity for 17 young people from all European Union countries, including Italy, to join an ESC Team Volunteering for 38 days in Genoa, Italy. The project takes place in Cascina EUtopia, located in Casaleggio Boiro (AL). Casaleggio Boiro is a small village in the Piemonte region from the 1st of September to the 8th of October 2026. This team is part of Team-Up, a European Solidarity Corps project coordinated by P.E.CO. (Genoa) and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the EU.
About the Volunteering project
EUtopia is a place located in the countryside of Northern Italy, where participants will connect with nature and help give new life to the structure and the land around it, to make it a safe and inclusive place for highly vulnerable young people in future European exchanges and volunteering projects. A total of 17 volunteers from across Europe will join this project for 38 days. The main activities during the project will be as follows:
- Renovation of the farmhouse
- Green maintenance
- Upcycling activities and workshops
- Cooking and community life management
- Visit to a local organisation supporting people fleeing armed conflicts
- Community dissemination activities on waste management and environmental sustainability.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Young people aged between 18 and 30, who are citizens or residents of an EU country (including Italy)
- Available for the full duration of the project.
- Ready for teamwork and community living.
- Able to adapt to basic life conditions (shared rooms, limited shower time, rural environment).
- Ready to do manual and physical work.
- Enthusiastic about outdoor and nature-based activities.
- Open-minded, curious, and flexible.
Expenses and Benefits
- The project will take place in a logistically challenging environment. The large accommodation building has several bedrooms, each shared by 4 or more volunteers. There are 4 bathrooms available, although only 3 have hot water. Volunteers may also have the option to stay in a camping tent.
- Volunteers will participate in cooking shifts and help the staff prepare meals.
- During holiday periods, the organization may be unable to provide food and accommodation. In this case, volunteers will receive €23 per day as Participant Support, which is intended to cover travel expenses to the venue, exceptional costs, and personal expenses (pocket money).
