"Challenge misery by building and learning together" is a project organized by "compagnons batisseurs" in France to help the inhabitants who are facing difficult situations (link with personal, social, economical or health problems...) to help them in the renovation of their homes.
Description
the volunteers will work with the inhabitants who are facing difficult situations (link with personal, social, economical or health problems...) to help them in the renovation of their homes. The main objectives is to run some technical works to improve the flat or the house but also to share good moments with this families and maybe try to bring to their homes and their lives a new and positive dynamic. Depending on specific opportunities, you could also get involved in local or national projects like collective workshops link with the recycling process or particular technics.
Project Location
Rennes, Paris, Marseille, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Tours (the cities depends on the available place in the moment of your Application) , France
Finance
- The volunteers live and work as a part of a team sharing a flat with 2 or 3 other volunteers.
- EVS volunteers will receive a monthly allowance covering food expenses and pocket money (about 468 €/month).
- Accommodation is provided by Compagnons Bâtisseurs.
- Local transport is taken in charge by using Compagnons Bâtisseurs vehicles.
- EVS Volunteers will receive a fee to cover some part of their travel costs to come and go back home.
Training during Project
- The local organization is giving to the volunteers daily instructions.
- The national organization is organizing national meetings twice a year and the national agency of Erasmus+ is convening volunteers twice a year to the EVS arrival and mid-term seminars.

Requirements
The project is opened to everyone interested by manual and social work.
- The Organization host men and women between 18 and 30 years old from different nationalities and backgrounds with or without preliminary knowledge in renovation or social work.
it's obligatory that volunteers have this profile:
- A lot of motivation to be volunteer
- Interest to help people in difficulties
- interest to manual work
- Motivation to live a good experience
- Have the open mind; With this conditions you will be a volunteer in Compagnons Bâtisseurs France.
