A great opportunity to attend the One Young World Summit Conference, which is one of the largest international conferences that is held annually. It will be held this year 2022 in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, for 4 days. This summit brings together more than 2000 youth leaders from more then 190 countries around the world. It is a great opportunity to increase your experience and personal skills, especially if you are interested in leadership and have a real desire to change your community for the better. This summit is organised by One Young World Limited, a charity registered in England and Wales.
About One Young World
One Young World summit brings together annually more than 2,000 youth leaders in various sectors from more than 190 countries around the world, working together to accelerate social impact in society. Delegates are counselled by influential leaders around the world. Participants have the opportunity to challenge world leaders, interact with influencers and industry experts, and forge lasting relationships with them. Delegates participate in 4 days of workshops, seminars, speeches and panel discussions, share a platform with top world leaders and communicate their messages to top global media.
About Tokyo
Tokyo is the capital of Japan and is the largest metropolitan area in the world. Tokyo used to consist of 23 special neighborhoods, but now it consists - in addition to special neighborhoods - of 26 cities, five towns, and eight villages, each with a local government and its own administration, and the special government of Tokyo administers all areas. The Japanese city of Tokyo ranks first in Japan in culture, research and education, and there are more than a third of Japan's university institutes, and more than 45% of Japan's students study in it. A large number of tourists visit Tokyo throughout the year, especially when the buds of the amazing cherry trees begin to bloom in the beginning of April. Activities: Exciting firefighters parade in Tokyo on December 6, followed by the Asakusa Shrine Festival in mid-May, and the city has a large number of restaurants and hotels, many of which are built in modern Western style and some are built in high Japanese style Which is called a ryokan.
Finance and Accommodation
there are some scholarships to attend One Young World Summit 2022 for free. the scholarship include the following Finance:
- Travel Expenses to and from Tokyo, Japan will be covered, Your flight to and from Tokyo must depart from and return to one and the same international airport.
- If you need a visa to enter to Japan, You will have to pay Visa fee yourself. The visa costs 22 GBP plus the applicable service charge of your local visa application centre.
- Free hotel accommodation for 4 days.
- Catering which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Local transportation between Summit accommodation and summit venue will be covered.
Plenary challenges
The challenges that will be discussed at the Tokyo Summit 2022 have been identified and will be as follows:
- Conflict Prevention - How can we prevent conflicts?
- Gender Equality - How can we accelerate gender equality?
- Health - How can we ensure health equity for all?
- Oceans - How can we safeguard and restore the world’s oceans?
- Ageing Populations - How do we stop an ageing population from becoming an ageing crisis?
Eligibility
- You age between 18 -30 years.
- The One Young World team will consider applications from those over the age of 30, pending demonstration of appropriate personal influence, initiative and willingness to participate.
- You have a clear commitment to making positive change in the Society.
- Have a proven track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas.
- Demonstrate ability for Leadership.
- Are addressing key local or global issues in your work.
- Are a national (passport holding citizen) of one of the eligible countries.
Duration
A total of 4 days from 16 -19 May, 2022 in Tokyo, Japan.
Selection Process
-The strongest applicants will be shortlisted by the end of January. You will be contacted individually by a member of the One Young World team after you have been shortlisted.
- Priority will also be given to first-time Summit attendees.
