About Cultural Relations Platform

A project funded by the European Union that connects cultural practitioners around the world in order to facilitate dialogue, exchange and cooperation among them, and provides expertise to the European Union in the field of international cultural relations. It is an association composed of four organisations: the Goethe-Institute Brussels (President of the Association), the European Cultural Foundation, the International Network of Contemporary Performing Arts and the University of Siena.


About Istanbul

Istanbul is located in the northwest of the Marmara region in Turkey, and it is divided into two parts separated by the Bosphorus Strait, which makes the city located on two continents at one time: Europe and Asia. It is the largest city in Turkey and the seventh largest city in the world in terms of population, with a population of about 15 million people. Istanbul contains many wonderful tourist places, including: Sultan ahmet District, Hagia Sophia Mosque, Dolmabahce Palace, Galata Tower, Bosphorus Strait, Topkapi Palace and Suleymaniye Mosque. 


Description

The Cultural Relations Platform (CRP) is accepting applications for participation in the 2022 GCRP International Cultural Relations Program, a unique event dedicated to individuals working in the cultural and creative sectors. The opportunity is open to those wishing to expand their skills in the field of international cultural relations, and network with cultural practitioners and creators around the world. Participants will be able to develop skills that will benefit them for life, increase their knowledge, build their international networks, and receive support to engage in international cultural relations.


Finance and Benefits

- No participation or application fee.

The CRP will book and pay for travel to and from Istanbul.

- Accommodation from and any programme-related expenses during the programme.

If you choose to extend your stay in Istanbul, you will need to pay for expenses and accommodation for the additional days.

Build international cultural relations skills through a carefully designed interactive training program.

- Develop a collaborative, international cultural project.

- Network and collaborate with professionals from around the world, facing similar challenges and opportunities.

- Join the Cultural Relations Platform’s community of 180 GCRP alumni on a long-term basis.


Eligibility

- All participants from all countries can apply and To ensure a fair geographical balance, we expect 1/3 of participants to come from the EU and 2/3 from non-EU countries.

- Your age between 25-39, with at least three years’ experience in international collaboration.

- You could work for a public, private or civil society organisation, or be a freelancer.


Timeline

Deadline: Application deadline is 1st of March 2022 ( midnight Central European Time)

Results: Successful participants will be informed about their selection by the end of March at the latest.

Arrival: Arrival in Istanbul is 9th of May 2022

Programme: From 10-13th of May 2022

Closing: 13th of May 2022
