About the Project

The project Camp "Drive On: Volunteering Earth's oasiS" is an European Solidarity Corps  - volunteering project. The project is aiming to enable group of young people volunteering through European Solidarity Corps program and provide them with a unique opportunity for non-formal/informal learning that enhance the professional skills and competences of participants. The activities will provide young people with the opportunity to gain experience working in a team, learn to solve tasks with whom they are faced during their volunteering experience using different

methods, to extend their knowledge about relevant issues regarding useful spending of leisure time of young people, improve their language skills and that on the completion of their period of project to become an example of good practice in their communities and encourage others to actively volunteering.


About Sibenik

Šibenik is a historic city in Croatia, located in central Dalmatia where the river Krka flows into the Adriatic Sea. It is the oldest native Croatian town on the shores of the sea. The most important monument in Šibenik, well-known in European architecture and registered in UNESCO World Heritage Sites List is definitely the Cathedral of St.James from 15th and 16th centuries. 


Activities of the project

During the volunteering period, the participants will carry out the activities of landscaping and cleaning the environment, planting trees and restoring children's playgrounds. The participants will be distributed by day depending on the topics:

 - Landscaping and cleaning of the environment at locations that are wild waste disposal sites.

- Planting trees and plants in locations devastated by natural disasters or as a result of human activity.

 - Restoration of dilapidated children's playgrounds that need to be
painted and repaired.

 - Information about the European Solidarity Forces, European values and the project (participants can also design promotional materials in Canva and the Doodly application)


Finance and Benefits

- Travel costs will be reimbursed up to the maximum eligible travel distance cost. Your travel budget depends on the distance you have to travel in order to get to the training venue as follows:-

  • for travel distance between 10 and 99 km: 20 EUR/ Participant
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR/ Participant
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR/ Participant
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR/ Participant
  • for travel distance between 3000 and 3999 km: 530 EUR/ Participant
  • for travel distance between 4000 and 7999 km: 820 EUR/ Participant
  • for travel distance of 8000 or more: 1500 EUR/ Participant
 - To get your travel reimbursement keep all tickets, invoices, reservations and confirmations.

- For this reason, it is important to keep in mind that if you will do the check in for your flight through an online app (e.g. Ryanair), MAKE A SCREENSHOT of your boarding pass, because it might disappear after you have concluded your trip!

- Accommodation will be provided by host organisation for free.

- 3 meals per day will be provided by host organisation.

- pocket money 70 Euro for each volunteer during all period of the project.

- All volunteers will get Youthpass certificate after the volunteering project, Youthpass is a European recognition tool for non-formal learning in  youth work.

Requirements 

-  Aged between 18 - 30 Years old.

- You are a resident in one of these countries ( Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Belarus, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Georgia, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Moldova (Republic of), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, United Kingdom)

- Be Dynamic, creative, sociable, patient, able to work in a team, sociable, flexible, and creative.

- people with interesting hobbies, with their own ideas, and open to different cultures.

-  volunteers who like social media management and graphic design (e.g. video and photo editing).



What to Bring?

- Your Passport / Identity Card.
- European Health Insurance Card.

- Coat, Slipper, Shampoo, Towels
- Personal medicine, Cosmetics, mosquito repellent
- National / Traditional food, drinks, clothes, music, or other Things of your country you would like to present/ show for intercultural evenings
- Positive energy and open-minded attitude



Timeline

Arrival: Arrival Date is 15th of October 2022.

Departure: Departure date is 29th of October 2022.
