RIPS Summer Internship 2023 in Los Angeles, USA (Fully Funded)

The Research in Industrial Projects for Students "RIPS" summer Internship 2023 is a great opportunity for talented undergraduates and recent graduates who are looking forward to improve and develop their skills and careers in math, computer science and related discipline abroad. This program will be a 9 weeks research experience provided by Institute for Pure & Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).


About RIPS

The Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS) program gives an opportunity for talented and high skilled undergraduate students to work in teams on real -world research projects proposed by sponsors from industry or the public sector. 

RIPS students live, work and socialize together over the summer, so they form close professional and personal relationships. Students have an office with a computer and meeting space at IPAM. IPAM provides technical support as well as daily “tea time” and occasional guest lectures. Students stay in university housing within walking distance of IPAM and eat most meals on campus. the RIPS program will take place in person as planned. However, this may change depending on the trajectory of the pandemic.

Benefits

Participants in RIPS summer Internship 2023 will get:-

- A stipend of $ 4000.

- Travel allowance

- Housing in the dorms and most meals are included at University of California campus.

- Limited partial support for future travel to select conferences.

- Visa sponsorship for selected international participants.


Eligibility

- All Internationals students from any country can apply for this Internships.

You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in the program.

- Be enrolled in or have just complteted an undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree.

Recent graduates who have received their degree no earlier than December 20212 may apply for RIPS 2023.

- Students with a strong background in mathematics and an interest in seeing how mathematics is used in the real world are encouraged to apply.

- Most of the projects have a significant computational component, so that proficiency (or at least some experience) in computer science, data analysis or numerical computation is valuable, but not necessary for everyone.

- Have a good level in English language is important.

A total of 9 weeks from 20/6/2023 to 18/8/2023 in University of California Campus, Los Angeles - USA.

-  A Transcript or Academic record  from your undergraduate Instituation (It can be unofficial)

- Two reference letters

NoteReference letters need to be uploaded on the MathPrograms webpage. You will be asked to enter your letter writers’ names and email addresses. The system will send them automatic email requests on your behalf, or you can customize the letter sent to them from the application page. You can also track when a letter is uploaded by one of your references.


Deadline

- The application deadline is 13/02/2022 at 8:59 PM (Pacific Time). No applications or reference letters will be accepted after the deadline.


How to apply?

1- login by entering your Email address and password. If you don't have an account on the system, you can create your free account by entring your email, choose your own password and check the “this is my first login…” checkbox on your first login from this page

2- fill out the Standard Coversheet. Make sure to enter your two reference writers, but do not check the “email notify writer on submit” box.

3- Click on “submit” and you will be redirected to the RIPS application form.

4-  Fill out the RIPS application form. 

5-  Make sure to upload all the required documents: your CV, transcripts, and select two reference writers for this program.

6- click on “Apply.” Your submission is successful only if you see the “Thank you for submitting your application” screen
