If you are interested in spending unforgettable summer in small village in south of Italy and you would like to live in camping area and get new practical and manual skills, then we will invite you to participate in European solidarity corps volunteering project "Volunteering Summer Fest 2" in Bergolo, Italy for one month. this project organised by Vagamondo organisation and co-funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme.

About the project

The project is a big volunteering festival of 1 month that includes also public events like concerts and expositions. Volunteers will be provided with tents built in the camping area of Bergolo, they will receive also, mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, sleeping bags and they will use the camping toilets, showers and a cozy room of the camping area. Some volunteers will have access to a kitchen and will take care of preparing the meals for the whole group.

The Area of volunteering will be:-

- Furniture design and manufacture

- Trails maintenance

- Gardening

- Cooking

- Group Cleaning

- Wedding areas of the village 

- Wood restoration

- Event management


About Bergolo

Village of 57 inhabitants, is located on the hills of southern Piedmont, in the province of Cuneo. It is a quiet destination for nature lovers and ideal for outdoor activities. The village has no shops, only two restaurants and a bar.

Bergolo has a long tradition of music, cultural festivals and art in general. Since 2018 it has regularly hosted youth exchanges and training courses organised by various associations and public entities.


Financial support

Volunteers will live together in a Tent Camp, in tents for 2, 3 and 4 people.

Volunteers will be provided with a place for cooking and have the opportunity to cook for themselves as a group with an extra amount of 35€/person/week.

- Each volunteer will receive weekly pocket money of 35€. That is not a payment for the support given, but a flat rate refund for small expenses.

Volunteers will be provided with insurance that covers the travel and possible health care expenses.

During free days volunteers can travel to nearby cities, go to the seaside or explore the surrounding. They will receive a bike that they can use in the free time. Twice a week they will have the chance to go to the supermarket by car.

- Each volunteer will get the travel reimbursements after finishing the project. the travel reimbursements will be as following depends on the distance you have to travel

  • for travel distance between 0 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km : 180 EUR / person 
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km : 275 EUR / person 
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km : 360 EUR / person

Eligibility

- Young people between 18 and 30 years old. 

You are legally resident in one of these countries.

You want to make a difference for the local community and for yourself.

You are facing challenging situations in your life as described HERE

Interested in getting to know and cooperate with other young volunteers from different countries

- You want to live for 1 month in a rural environment in Italy, discover the local area and get to know its inhabitants.

- Able to communicate in English.

- You want to improve your practical and manual skills.

- Able to live for one month in tents with other people and have fun.


What to Bring?

ID - Passport or any other document you use for travel.

- Towels, flip flops, hygiene products, and a hairdryer, if you need one.

- Medicine, if you have any specific illness or medical condition.

- Come loaded with creativity, energy and patience, as there is a lot to do.

Your national flag, Some traditional clothes, Food and traditional drinks from your region, The recipe of traditional dish(es), and Personal stories you would like to share.
