About Campina

Campina is a lovely city in Romania, north of Bucharest, located in the main route between wallachina and Transylvania, on the way to valea prahovei and Brasov. its existence is first attested in a document of 1503. it is situated in historical region of Muntenia. in Campina there is also the famous lulia Hasdeu Castle and Nicolae Grigorescu Memarial House. both with many secrets for visitors to discover.  

About the Project

"Campina Youth Art Festival" is a 3 weeks volunteering project in Campina, Romania which includes 3-day Festival, creative workshops, supporting local artists, board games competitions, sports and escape rooms, and exhibition. the main objectives for this project are:

- Support and develop initiatives to encourage young people to be more active in the field of civic participation and foster a culture of civic awareness and responsibility.

- Promote volunteering as a means of strengthening social cohesion, social inclusion, and European identity, and creative activities as a form of self development through non-formal education.

- Empower young people with the skills needed to manage a project and develop competencies to design, plan, implement & evaluate an event.


Project activities

The roles for the volunteer will be as follows:

- You will organise the Youth Art Festival in Campina. you will have the chance to explore various roles and see what fits you the best: content, Logistics, communications, people. 

- You will get involved in creative activities, engaging with the local volunteers, in designing fun workshops to facilitate during the festival.

- You will engage with the local authorities related to logistical aspects. 

- You will create media content to promote the event.

- You will transform your ideas into actions.

- You will assess the impact of your festival on social media (reach, followers, engagement of followers, etc).

 

Financial conditions and Benefits

With the support of the European Solidarity Corps co-funding, the project will cover the following costs for you:

- the accommodation in sharing bedrooms in guesthouse ( 3-4 participants for each room), and shared bathroom

- food allowance 5 EUR/day, an equipped kitchen is available onsite so that you can prepare your own food)

- Pocket money 3 EUR/ day for each participant.

A travel, medical and third party insurance is included.

- Travel expenses from your home country to project venue will be reimbursed after participation in the project according to the distance between your  travelling place to the volunteering venue as follows:

  • for travel distance between 0 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person.
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = no reimbursement!
- YouthPass Certificate will be granted for all participants at the end of the project.


Eligibility

- Aged between 18-30 years old.

- Resident in one of ESC program countries.

- Creative in any field: communication and social media, music, dance, painting, theatre, ceramics, photography, crafts etc.

- Motivated to contribute to developing the country.

- Young people with fewer opportunities have a priority in the selection process.

-  Former EVS/ESC volunteers are eligible to join this project.

Note: Due to time limitation, this call for volunteers is applicable only for those that don't need to apply for visa.
