About IRENA
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is a lead global intergovernmental agency for energy transformation that serves as the principal platform for international cooperation, supports countries in their energy transitions, and provides state of the art data and analyses on technology, innovation, policy, finance and investment. IRENA promotes the broad use and sustainable application of all renewable energy sources, such as bioenergy, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, solar, and wind energy, in order to achieve sustainable development, energy security, and resilience and prosperity in the social and economic spheres as well as a future that is climate-proof.
Members of IRENA include the European Union and 168 other nations. Together, they determine the Agency's programmatic initiatives and strategic direction, keeping in mind the global energy conversation and the need to expedite the deployment of renewable energy transitions on a global scale.
About IRENA Youth Forum 2024
IRENA is organising its fifth IRENA Youth Forum: The New Generation of Decision Makers and it will be in April 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at the margins of the fourteenth session of the IRENA Assembly. The Assembly is the Agency’s ultimate decision-making authority where Heads of State/Government, Ministers and global stakeholders meet to discuss and advance the energy transition.
The 2024 IRENA Youth Forum will work on strengthen youth networks and connect them with international leaders, government representative and IRENA experts. All the selected young people will have the chance to contribute to IRENA's mission of fostering renewable energy development to achieve climate objectives and advance the sustainable development agenda.
Participants will be able to bring a youth perspective to the global energy discourse through a number of interactive events, including open dialogues and themed workshops.
Eligibility
- All nationalities are welcome to apply for IRENA Youth Forum
- Applicants must be youth aged between 16-35 years of age
- Having a proper CV
- There is no English language Certificate required to apply
- The event strives for a global and balanced geographical representation of youth and highly encourages applications from youth in LDCs, SIDS and developing countries.
Financial conditions
- There is no any registration or participation fee
- Selected applicants will have full sponsorship, including travel and accommodations, will be provided for up to 35 participants.

Event days: 15-18 April 2024

Participants will be selected based on their commitment to accelerating progress on renewable energy deployment.
