About EIOPA for

The  Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) is an independent advisory body to the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. It is one of the three European Supervisory Authorities established in 2011 as part of the European System of Financial Supervision.

It's mission is to protect the public interest by assisting in the short, medium and long-term stability and efficiency of the financial system for the businesses, citizens, and economy of the Union. This mission is carried out by promoting a strong regulatory framework and uniform supervisory practices in order to protect the rights of policyholders, pension scheme members and beneficiaries while also enhancing the public trust and confidence in the European Union’s insurance and occupational pensions sectors.


About EIOPA Traineeship

EIOPA is looking for a range of profiles and would like to engage staff for Trainee positions. The purpose of this notice of vacancy is to create a candidate pool for traineeship opportunities related to ongoing and upcoming work streams. Eligibility | Who can apply for EIOPA Traineeship

To be eligible for applying for EIOPA Traineeship positions, you must satisfy all the eligibility criteria listed below by the deadline:

- be a national of a member state of the European Economic Area (EEA) or candidate country upon their accession, check the list here ;

- be enrolled in a university degree programme or have recently graduated from an university; 

- have an excellent skills in oral and written English;

have never worked as a member of the European Parliament's assistant, a contract consultant, an internal researcher, a temporary employee, a contract employee, an auxiliary employee, or an interim employee of any EU body, delegation, or representative office, regardless of the length of time;

be protected by a private insurance policy or a national security program in the case of illness or accident.

Computer literacy, knowledge of the standard Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) is desirable but not essential.

- Having a Good drafting skills in English is desirable as well.


Practical conditions and Benefits

EIOPA trainees are entitled to a monthly grant of 1,400 EUR according to the Policy on Traineeship at EIOPA.

EIOPA trainees are eligible to a travel allowance of 250 EUR in total to contribute towards travel expenses incurred at the beginning and at the end of the traineeship.

The traineeship will last a minimum of 6 months and you can extend it to a maximum of 12 months upon the approval of EIOPA.

EIOPA Traineeship provides trainees with first-hand workplace experience thus the working styles will be similar to those of EIOPA staff.

Trainees are expected to show up  three days in the office per week while while two days can be performed by online, generally from Frankfurt but also from outside the area of the traineeship.
