Open call for 13 volunteers from European Union countries to join 3 weeks volunteering project in Vrábsko, 1.5 hour south of Prague, Czech Republic. Volunteers will assist in developing an emerging eco-community. About the Volunteering 

"Prepare Permaculture garden for growing season" is a team Volunteering project at an eco-community of 15 people living in a beautiful land surrounded by meadows, forests and ponds, 1,5 hour south of Prague, the Czech Republic.

The main aim of this volunteering project is to positively influence young people, encouraging them to adapt to a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle through hands-on experience in an emerging eco-community in the Czech Republic. This team volunteering experience will focus on preparing the garden for the upcoming growing season. Participants will gain knowledge of permaculture concepts and get a taste of a different style of life. They will also participate in workshops and help with the general development of the area.

By participating in this volunteering team, you will have the opportunity to meet people from different nationalities and backgrounds. It's a great opportunity to develop soft skills such as communication, collaboration, empathy, diversity, inclusion, and team building.


Main tasks for volunteers

- Preparing the permaculture garden for a flourishing season. A week-long series of workshops conducted by an organic and permaculture gardener will do that. theoretical, useful, and lighthearted.

- Maintaining of existing constructions, such as Yurts, and potential building of new ones. That will be carried out under supervision of skilled craftsmen with full instructions on how to use power tools etc. 

- A smaller projects in the community area, let see what space will call for and what team finds possible.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

This project is for 13 volunteers from EU countries who:

- aged between 18-30 years old;

- curious, responsible, and patient individuals ready to challenge themselves by participating in this project;

- have interest in working in the garden, food, production, vegan cuisine, and natural building;

- be able to stay for 3 weeks in a secluded village.


Practical conditions & Benefits

- The volunteers will be accommodated in Yurts with a shared indoor bathroom (shower & normal toilet) and outdoor dry toilets.

Each volunteer will receive a 7 EUR/ day as a pocket money

Three people will be dedicated each day to cooking vegan food for the volunteering team and eco-community members.

- The nearest town, ÄŒimelice, is 3 km away from the project village. the organisers can drive the volunteers there, or you can walk or ride bikes. Prague is 1 hour away from ÄŒimelice.

- The volunteering hours is set as 35 hours per week.

The volunteers will be insured through Henner health insurance scheme. This will be provided for each volunteer by the organisers through Mobility Tool+ portal. ​ 

Travel expenses from your home country to project venue will be reimbursed after participation in the project according to the distance between your  travelling place to the volunteering venue as follows:
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.
