Open call for volunteers from across Europe to join ESC team volunteering "Rural Youth Festival 3.0" in Izvoarele, Romania for 7 weeks. The project is organised by "Curba de Cultura" association and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.

About the project

"Curba de Cultura" association invites 18 volunteers from across Europe to join a new edition from fun project is happening this summer, the summer of 2024. The team of the volunteers will gather in the village of Măneciu to provide a series of cultural and educational activities for the local community of the village. Moreover the volunteers will help in organising the sixth edition of the Ruralympics Festival - the only Rural Youth Festival in Romania. By participating in this opportunity you have a good chance to explore the life in the countryside of Romania, the culture and beautiful landscape. As well as you will know new people from different countries and will get skills regarding working in a big international group.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 years old from the following countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Georgia, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Réunion)

- This is a Volunteering Team project, so its also open for people that did short/long term EVS/ESC volunteering project.

- Available to stay the whole duration of the project for 55 days.

- Strongly motivated to live and work with children and young people in rural area.

- Able to communicate and work in English spoken and written.

- Willing to share your living space with other volunteers from different cultures.


Expenses and Benefits

- Volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms, between 2-6 volunteers in a room.

- Volunteers will will share a common kitchen, bath room and living room.

- Volunteer will receive a food allowance to buy and prepare their foods plus a pocket money.

Your travel costs to and from Romania will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and the project venue according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 10 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 3000 and 3999 km: 530 EUR / person

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants will receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.


What to bring?

- ID or Passport or any other document you use for travel.

- Towels, flip flops, hygiene products, and a hairdryer, if you need one.

- Medicine, if you have any specific illness or medical condition.

- Your flight tickets, bus tickets, train tickets, or any proof you have that you came to Romania.

Application deadline: no application deadline, ASAP

Selection result: Checks your emails frequently (including spam), as organisers are answering fast and the selection process is very quick.

Arrival day: 7th of July 2024

Departure day: 30th of August 2024

Note: Application can be closed earlier than the scheduled time due to the number of the applications, so don't wait until the last moment and apply as soon as possible.
