An interesting opportunity for young people to join two-month volunteering project "4 European Youth Goals" with "Check-IN Association" in Beja, Portugal. This project is funded by the European Solidarity Corps program of the European Union.

About the Volunteering 

"4 European Youth Goals" is a team ESC volunteering project for young people from EU countries and the partner countries in ESC program to support the Check-IN Association's staff in variety of activities for two months to benefit the local community and the members of the association. The volunteers will join the following activities:-

- Assist in revitalising the Check-IN Eurodesk Infopoint by organising the physical space;

- Develop the materials regarding the European mobilities;

- Update the association's website and the social media pages;

- Create a newsletter featuring opportunities and monthly documentary activities;

- Collaborate with the staff to organiSe sessions on European Programs in schools, universities, youth organiSations, and municipalities.

This involvement means the volunteers will help the association's staff in connecting with partners, telling people about our events, organising stuff, making sure everyone joins in, keeping our online spaces up to date, and writing down what volunteers do each month.


Expenses & Benefits

This volunteering project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps program of the EU and include the following:

- The participation is free of charge 

- Participants will be accommodated in a shared house with other volunteers or university students in a warm and friendly environment.

The home provides great convenience, with nearby university and dining spots. Plus, it fosters a collaborative atmosphere where volunteers and students can learn from each other's cultures, enhancing everyone's experience.

Each volunteer is entitled to receive 5 EUR/ day as a pocket money, you have to stay the whole entire period of the project to take it.

- Volunteers will have free time two days per week to discover the area and practice their hobbies.

Travel costs to and from Beja, Portugal will be reimbursed after participation in the project according to the distance between your  travelling place to the volunteering venue as follows:
  • for travel distance between 10 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person
  • for travel distance between 3000 and 3999 km: 530 EUR / person

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive Youthpass certificate after finishing the project.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

This project is addressed to volunteers from EU countries and non-EU countries which are partners in the ESC Program, check the list from HERE

- Young people must be aged between 18 to 30 years;

- Self motivated and eager to take a new challenges for their personal and professional life;

Ready to embrace a socially responsible and healthy lifestyle, and open to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures;

- Creative and interested in working with young people;

- Enthusiastic to attend the whole duration of the project.

- Able to communicate and work in English.



What to Bring ?

Passport or ID
- Travel tickets, boarding passes, and invoices
- European Health Insurance Card if you have it
- Comfortable indoor and outdoor clothes
- Slippers, personal toiletries, and towels 
- Personal medicine - if you're taking any please let the organisers know in advance!
