Folking 2024 | 3 weeks volunteering in Granada, Spain (Fully Funded)

An exciting opportunity for 12 participants from across Europe to join a three-week volunteering project "Folking 2024" in the province of Granada, Spain during summer 2024. This project is organised by "Las Niñas del Tul has" association and funded by the European Solidarity Corps program of the European Union. 

About the volunteering

In the last years, Las Niñas del Tul  association has spent times and efforts in developing cultural activities in the province of Granada during the summers as a tool for inclusion and information for youth.

Hence the idea of taking futhuer step and engaging young people from different countries to participate in these activities, showing their cultures and traditions. The main objectives that set  during the activities are the following:

 • to boost active participation and young people mobility, especially of young people with profiles of social inclusion barriers.

 • to promote mutual understanding between young people from different backgrounds and realities, therefore broadening the scope of knowledge of local youth about European citizenship, getting to know other cultures.

 • to provide an experience of intercultural and international learning, especially to young people with fewer opportunities. Volunteers will organize activities related to folklore, mainly traditional dances from their countries, and will support the folk music festival ParapandaFolk.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 by the first day of the project

- Be a citizen or a resident in one of the following countries "Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Belarus, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Türkiye, Ukraine, Kosovo"

Participants should be interested in traditions and folk and eager to do cultural and educational activities with children, youth and adults.

- No experience or especial capacity needed for the participation in the project

Participants must have motivation to live this experience, to learn, contribute, willing to cooperate, flexibility and initiative.


Expenses and Benefits 

This project is supported by the European Solidarity corps programme and include the followings:

The accommodation will be in a public building prepared for that project. Participants will be hosted in shared bedrooms (3-4 participants per bedroom). the bathrooms are shared as well. 

- Participants receive a food allowance to buy and cook their food on the equipped kitchen.

Volunteers are entitled to get a pocket money provided by the programme of 5 euros per day.

Besides the European Health insurance card you are going to be offered a private insurance from HENNER too.

- To get to the project venue, there is a public transport from the city of Granada. 

Your travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and Granada according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.


What to Bring ?

Passport or ID
- Travel tickets, boarding passes, and invoices
- European Health Insurance Card if you have it
- Comfortable indoor and outdoor clothes
- Slippers, personal toiletries, and towels 
- Personal medicine - if you're taking any please let the organisers know in advance!
- optional: speaker, instruments, games, swimsuit
