The European Week “Let’s meet!” | ESC Volunteering project in Poland (Fully Funded)

Open call for 15 volunteers from all over Europe to join the ESC Volunteering "The European Week “Let’s meet!” - 3 week group activity in Social School in Gdynia, Poland. This project is hosted by Stowarzyszenie “Tacy Sami”, coordinated by Centre for Youth Cooperation and Mobility and funded by the European Solidarity Corps Programme of the European Union.

About the volunteering

The European Week “Let’s meet!” in primary school in Gdynia is a short-term ESC Volunteering project. The project will include workshops, personal encounters, games, plays and a lot of fun in an intercultural atmosphere. The main goal of the event is to learn about other European countries, its’ culture, habits, differences and similarities that will be shared. The volunteers' tasks will include preparation and running of the following:

- country’s informative stands,

- games from your country

- art activities and common pictures painting and learning about your country famous artists, 

- education system presentation of your country, 

- cooking workshop for the traditional dishes from your country,

- personal passions and free time activities presentation,

- presentation of country social activists: what you fight for/ challenges in our country? 

You will work from Monday to Friday (minimum 30 and maximum 38 hours per week) including training days, evaluation, meetings in the coordinating organisation office. On Saturdays and Sundays you will have free day. In addition, you will have 1 day of holiday during your stay in Gdynia.


Eligibility | Who can apply 

- Young people aged between 18-30 years old from all over Europe who don't need Visa for Poland;

- Open minded person, willing to share about his/her culture;

- Enjoy working with children;

Being an active, passionate and creative;

- Ready to stay the entire period of the project.


Expenses and benefits

Participants will be accommodated in the Guest House “Żeglarz”. It’s located around 20 min by bus from City Center close to the forest.

There will be 3/4 rooms available for you. All rooms have a bathroom and are newly renovated. The kitchen is located on the 1st floor and is fully equipped with 3 induction hobs, 3 ovens, 3 fridges, pots, pans, plates and cutlery.  Also, you can use laundry once per week during your stay. 

You will have a possibility to use Wi-Fi Internet in the Guest House.

You will get 5 Euro per day converted into PLN (Polish currency) of pocket money which can be used for your own expenses.

You will get 3,5 EUR per day converted into PLN for food.

Your travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and Poland according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.

Program starts: 4th of September 2024

Program ends: 17th of September 2024

Departure day: 18th of September 2024

Note: You have 4 extra days in total that you can use before or after the project to travel around Poland. If you wish to do so, bare in mind that you need to cover the costs for your accommodation & food. Late arrivals or early departures are not allowed.
